Immigrants rights' advocates — including the ACLU and Democracy Defenders Fund — have filed a new nationwide class-action lawsuit challenging Trump's birthright citizenship order. The lawsuit is in direct response to the Supreme Court ruling.

This is your daily reminder that Republicans are planning to gut Medicaid, Medicare and SNAP to hand tax breaks to billionaires. We can’t afford to get distracted. Help me spread the word.

📣 SENATE DEMS ARE "DOING SOMETHING" *RIGHT NOW, SUCCESSFULLY WINNING PARLIAMENTARIAN FIGHTS OVER THE #MAGAMURDERBILL! Massive turnout for #NoKings protests won't mean ANYTHING unless people also VOTE FOR DEMS UP & DOWN THE BALLOT. Donate today: #Blue26 secure.actblue.com/donate/senat...

It is quite rare for consumer spending to fall in inflation-adjusted terms. It happened during covid, and during the financial crisis, and it is happening now.

The "big, ugly bill" is going to fire 20,000 health care workers in Kentucky. That's 20,000 people who won't be able to pay rent, afford groceries or care for their families. This isn't something folks can "get over." Raise your voice and demand to stop this harmful bill.

Striking: Trump's budget bill is now polling in 20s and 30s. "It’s astonishing how underwater it is," says @sarahposner.bsky.social. Rs haven't even "tried to hide" that it takes from poor to give to "megarich." On the pod, Sarah is great on Trump's big poll slide: newrepublic.com/article/1973...

The American Academy of Pediatricians bluntly telling us the current CDC can't be trusted, and of course they are absolutely correct publications.aap.org/aapnews/news...

You’ve seen this movie before: Maybe Reagan guessed, Bush hoped, and Trump tried—but tax cuts never paid for themselves. Given the mountain of evidence, claiming once again that "tax cuts will pay for themselves" is no longer ideologically motivated optimism. It's a lie.

I'm going to try and communicate with my Republican colleagues in a new way.

The American people strongly disapprove of the GOP’s one big ugly bill. It turns out that ripping healthcare away from millions of Americans is not that popular. #ProtectOurCare

#ProudBlue Listen to Senator Murphy! Flood Republican senators’ phone lines with calls against this horrific bill that will kick millions out of their healthcare! 202-224-3121

Breaking:   WASHINGTON (AP) - A key Medicaid provision in Trump's big tax cut and spending bill is found to violate Senate rules.

Seventh set of Byrd droppings is out, and WOW! We won on trans care in Medicaid, provider taxes, FMAP, immigrants in Medicaid, and other issues. These victories are amazing for the people they help - and cost Rs more than $250 billion of their savings by rough calculations, largely not curable.

When Republican voters learn that the "Big Beautiful Bill" takes from the poor to give to the rich, they oppose it.

@sarahlongwell25.bsky.social: “Democrats' messaging is breaking through. I'm listening to voters in the focus groups — they're saying back what Democrats are putting out there, which is they are cutting your programs, programs that benefit you in order to give tax cuts to very rich people.”

The sixth set of Byrd droppings is out and WOW - huge and COSTLY loss for Republicans. Loan repayment changes can only be for new borrowers, and they lost on CSRs, can’t add new Hyde language, plus other stuff. By my rough calculations, this just cost Republicans $150 billion or more of their cuts

Republicans just lost 10% of the affirmative savings they wanted to get in reconciliation. Truly in awe of the Bernie Sanders HELP staff and the Jeff Merkley Budget staff.

Watching Truth Social posts by Trump every hour, each more insane & unhinged than the previous one as he circles the drain of a malignant narcissist’s descent into dementia, makes it that much more ridiculous that media just spent a month on Biden while pretending Trump is sane.

Getting the gavel out of Mike Johnson's hand needs to be priority #1 for dems. Having control of 1 chamber of Congress brings trumps agenda to a grinding halt. Congress controls the "purse"

🚨 Even Republicans in Speaker Mike Johnson’s district are warning: “People are going to die.” His Medicaid cuts could shutter rural hospitals and rip care from 158,000 Louisianans. This is life or death. #ThisBillKills

I never thought Mitch would get through the pearly gates before this, now I’m certain he will spend eternity with Limbaugh.

One political challenge for Republicans is that bad things that happen in the health system will get blamed on the One Big Beautiful Bill. Some of it will be true, some of it won't. The same thing happened with the ACA, but the ACA also provided a lot of new benefits for people.

Thom Tillis got up and he had a chart on what the Senate’s provider tax structure will cost different states, including his. His will lose almost $40 billion. He walked through that and said ‘this will be devastating to my state” thehill.com/homenews/sen...

While leaders in D.C. are cutting Medicaid from 16 million Americans and causing folks to lose local access to health care, we're working on ways to bring care right to Kentuckians' doors. We're helping people lead better lives – something every level of government should be focused on.

Leaders must take responsibility for their words and actions. Disagreeing on something doesn't mean someone is evil or less of an American, and rhetoric like that is fueling violence that has no place in our country. Even if you disagree with me, you're still my neighbor.

I know things seem scary right now, but it's important to take care of yourself. Hug your kids, focus on the things you are grateful for, and take a break from the news when you need it. Keep the faith and remember, we'll get through this together.

This “big, ugly bill” is dangerous and will destroy rural health care. In Kentucky alone, 35 hospitals are under the threat of closing, stripping care from families, cutting jobs and crippling local economies. 1/2

Senate Republicans are determined to pass *something* before leaving for July 4th, so this is a big week for lighting up their phones. If you haven't called yourself in a bit, today's the day. And multiple orgs are trying to drive calls from key districts.

New: distributional analysis of the tax part of the Senate plan Under the Senate plan, people who make at least a million dollars per year get more than twice as much as the bottom half of America combined After incorporating the Medicaid & SNAP cuts, the poor get poorer while the rich get richer

Shout it from the rooftops!

“It’s the largest redistribution from poor to rich in a single bill in American history.” It's a play in three regressive parts: 1. Tax cuts for the rich. 2. Spending cuts on the poor. 3. Tariffs that hit low-income folks hardest.

I'm launching a campaign for U.S. Senate. I'm seeking to serve Texas because I love my country—I believe in its ideals and values. I'm an Air Force Colonel and an astronaut, but really, I'm an American first, a Texan second, and a common-sense Democrat 3rd. It's time for change.

The cruelty, fear, ignorance, divisiveness, and un-Americanism of Trump/Trumpism, all in one tweet.👇

Well, gosh, whoda thunk

Why won’t the Fed cut? 😢
