We’re celebrating my birthday today because I’m off to London for a big meeting on Tuesday and it’s our last day off together until 15th March - starting with tea in my favourite mug which I use year round but is finally appropriate

Today is the Feast of George Herbert (1593-1633), priest and poet. Here is my favourite poem of his - Love (III) / Love Bade Me Welcome. englishverse.com/poems/love Thanks be to God!

Rejoicing at an entirely headache free day today, the first in nearly two weeks!

Dew covered snow drops at West Suffolk Hospital, almost worth the very early blood test

I’ve had three days in a row of awful sleep and migraines, but I have a hospital appointment in three weeks that should provide some relief. Just hoping and praying I see some natural improvement before then.

The second Westcott puzzle has been completed, this time with no missing pieces!

Ran out into the snow because I’m a child when it comes to snow and H managed to get a (slightly blurry) photo of a tiny perfectly formed snowflake that landed on my scarf

For various reasons I find myself at home this evening and feeling a little sorry for myself but a long bath, risotto and catching up on two weeks of The Archers have been very healing for my soul

Sede (almost) vacante The bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich lays down his crozier, mitre and cope at his final service in his cathedral before retirement at the end of the month. A privileged to serve for my former boss one last time (even if done so holding back tears) #CofEpeeps ⚓️

Today my (non-Christian) mum popped by and was horrified we still have our Christmas decorations up and then proceeded to gift us some hot cross buns

Join us for one of our 2025 Open Days to learn about the opportunities we offer at Westcott House for ordinands, clergy & lay people. St John’s is really showing off in the sun this morning! #CofEpeeps

Left college to walk around the block and post some cards and realised it’s the first time I’ve left this week - *almost* made me look forward to walking across town to take a Greek test tomorrow

I’m leading BCP Matins on placement tomorrow and while I’m mostly extremely nervous about messing up the wording/flow I’ve really fallen in love with the BCP while practicing over the past week

Important business of the first day of term - blessing the entrance to our building

Very much hoping and praying that a flare up of nerve pain in my foot today is a response to lots of walking and driving and not a longer term issue

We went to see Conclave today ahead of the start of the Westcott term later this week and H made the mistake of asking me how it compares to the process for selecting bishops in the Church of England - I think he may now be looking forward to me leaving

There are only a few days left to apply for our Organ Scholar role for the academic year 2025-2026. Applications are welcome from graduate or pre-university students. Find out more at stedscathedral.org/vacancies

Rejoice! The almond allergy appears to be gone and one triangle of Toblerone has been consumed without any consequence

Today we are challenge testing H with almonds, which according to tests are the only nut he can safely eat. We are up to 1/32th of a nut and he is yet to have any reaction which is good news

We’ve just discovered a tin of biscuits that we bought in October for Christmas and then completely forgot about!

What I want to do more than anything this evening is be in bed by 9pm and not have to drive anywhere, but I know I will feel better for having seen friends at a party even if it means being out late

I didn’t manage to take many photos today, but this one of the dome at St Paul’s just managing to make it through the smog brings to mind the divine breaking through to us

I’ve arrived very early for church today because I’m worshipping somewhere different from usual and I never entirely trust public transport, but it’s meant I’ve got 30 minutes of relative peace before a service which is such a novelty and a joy

H loves dogs and I am (dare I admit it) fairly indifferent to them - which obviously means the dog is giving me all her attention while we’re at my in-laws’

Everyone loves my husband’s medical input during call the midwife but when I point out anything church-y I’m “interrupting” and “ruining the mood”

After watching Wallace and Gromit my sister and I have found this guy at my dad’s and now a plan is being hatched with some felt and a sewing kit

And breathe! Finally opening the Westcott Port after midnight mass at St John’s Bury St Edmunds #clergymaltclub

The Vicar and the Ordinand after midnight mass! Such a joy to be on placement here! #MyChurchOfEngland

Took my wedding ring off to do some washing up before going to cinema, forgot to put it back on and then spent approximately 20% of Paddington worrying I’d dropped it down the back of the cinema seat
