Didn't know Seth Rogen had covered Kevin Carter

First five seconds of this:

I watched Mountainhead this evening and I'd like those two hours back please. Rubbish.

It’s actually really difficult for on-staff games journalists to make time for playing games during work hours. Most big reviews are written by people giving up their weekends.

Delightful evening with the great Alex Spencer in which we solved all of the problems with games journalism but forgot to write them down because we were drinking cocktails. Sorry, everyone. We had fun, though, and that's the main thing.

I say this, but yesterday just outside Euston station a stranger congratulated me on my "well-travelled face"

Nothing quite so humbling as working on a project and the one piece of writing your colleague raves about is the foreword, i.e. the one bit that was written by someone else.

Oh for fuck's sake

I'll be doing a playthrough on stream of MORSE with a glowing LED telegraph this Sunday if you fancy joining! Here's a preview of what that looks like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsKX...

Crossed the road alongside Charisma Carpenter

*Nothing* is beating Mario Kart World to 2025's best soundtrack. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDZi...

What Lewis said. I did (light) edits on this book and he did a tremendous job, as did Eliza with the design, and TCR gave us amazing access *and* assets. If you liked SWTD, this is the definitive story of how it came to be.

In Edge 412, out today, we wander the wilds of Australia in Big Walk, the new project from Untitled Goose Game creator House House. Our 16-page hands-on cover story digs deep into its unique approach to multiplayer adventuring, delivering a game unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Straight from a Chaplin film from 1918.

Loved this

RIP to Brian Wilson, who gave us many perfect albums but also the perfect interview

the perfect pop song doesn't exis—

There were 770 games at not-E3 this year. Is this good? Was it fun? Trying to make some sense of it all in here newsletter.hitpoints.co/320-sensory-...

An observation: there's a noticeable gap in the Mario Kart World reviews between people with kids and folks mostly playing single player/online with randoms.

Always nice to hear from my fans

I’m not shocked that the Switch 2 sold well at launch and I think a big part of that is how much time Nintendo put into making sure there was a ready supply of systems. Probably one of the smoothest launches of a system I’ve seen.

Make sure you watch to the very end

ffs man

uh-oh

Overstating a warning can be a kindness.

The man literally does not miss

This looks fantastic

In April, I made the rarest of pilgrimages: to Tokyo, and the top of a skyscraper, to meet Hideo Kojima. I went with one question: why still make games? At 61, he has made them for almost forty years. But he has seen his end. My latest for GQ: www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/hide...

when i was single-digit years old i read the phrase "political assassination" in nintendo power's killer7 feature and i asked my dad what it meant. he said "what the hell is that gamecube teaching you man." first time i'd ever heard him curse. happy 20th to the greatest video game of all time

Finished writing this today (on the 20th anniversary of Killer7, no less) and I’m not gonna lie to you I did a real good job this gonna be a good ass book

Hi please check your closets for this issue of Play, it's the last one we need and nothing makes my librarian ass grumpier than missing exactly one issue of a publication. Two is fine, one makes me obsessive.
