My years of living with psychosis reshaped my view of the world, so in a way I'm grateful for the experience. I dislike money, economics, most things that have to do with those two things, competitive sports, competition in general, and religion.

It's kind of funny how one of the major innovations of the Renaissance, which shapes our world still to this day basically unchanged, is accounting, and nobody talks about it

double book account is a form of pre-von neumann register based computation and we've been dealing with the consequences ever since. i will not be expanding upon this.

The Supreme Court upheld a law criminalizing gender-affirming health care for trans youth. This can lead to incarceration of parents & doctors & parents losing custody. CA won’t allow these laws to be enforced here. We’ll do everything we can to protect trans youth & their families. My statement:

Pretty much all that’s changed is the racial animus driving everything has gone from latent to overt. This alienated educated folks but activated a whole bunch of low info voters and anyone who wants to freely use racist/sexist/homophobic slurs to bolster their otherwise declining social status.

do you think the us army will achieve regime change in tehran before or after sacramento

As an Iraqi, to this day - 22 years after the US invasion - I still get asked “what would you prefer, what we have now or Saddam still in power?” It is the deep, underlying subconscious dehumanisation& racism that it is fundamentally believed the binary is all we, as middle easterners, deserve.

Personally I think that hurting people is bad and helping people is good and it just feels like that should not be all that radical a stance. And yet

the chinese pilotburo temporarily lifting its rules on substance abuse so that the entire party congress can drink and smoke while watching the united states violently shit itself to death on a random tuesday because its geriatric gameshow host president lost lucidity for 30 minutes again

It's just kind of a bummer that progressives have a cool charismatic dude who is trying to whistleblow/expose a disastrous industry with world-bending political implications, and we don't have an ecosystem to let this guy get out there and talk about how They Don't Want You To Know About This.

If our representatives will be arrested for acting on behalf of our interests then we don’t have actual representation

The feds are charging a Chinese teenager (who needs an interpreter) with offenses carrying up to 20 years imprisonment for shipping four boxes from China to Michigan containing C. elegans—a harmless microscopic roundworm The complaint (2:25-MJ-30370) cites 7 CFR §122.2, but I doubt it applies! /1

Anyone else feel like things are so bad that it's killed the mood to post? I'm kinda speechless right now.

I got a hat for creating a new page on PRISM, a digital public good! PRISM is an open source platform that combines real time climate data from satellites and ground sensors with socioeconomic data to help governments and communities understand abnormal weather impact on farming and disaster relief
