Great visit to Fish Window Cleaning—proud to see this franchise, with 2 locations in our district, thriving since starting in 2003. I am grateful for the chance to talk franchising & worker protections and continue the conversations we started back in DC!

Another powerful in-person town hall in the books! Your thoughts, concerns, and ideas continue to guide my work in Congress and keep me fueled with the energy to pursue a more prosperous future for West Michigan. Thank you, Grandville!

Cuts to Medicaid would threaten children’s health care and jobs that employ hardworking West Michiganders. I’m pushing back to any proposed cut on Medicaid funding.

Women business owners in West Michigan sat down with me to share their economic concerns—and their drive to keep growing. Thanks to WZZM13 for joining us and highlighting their voices. Check it out: www.wzzm13.com/article/news...

The Muskegon Innovation Hub at Grand Valley State University is truly one-of-a-kind! I’m so impressed by the work they do to support small businesses and entrepreneurs through programming, grants, coaching, and more. Keep innovating!

Don’t forget! My town hall is starting soon in Grandville. For those who can’t make it, tune in to my livestream tonight on my Facebook page to join: www.facebook.com/repscholtenM....

I stopped by the DaVita Dialysis Clinic in Grand Rapids where I met Tina, a lifelong Lions fan who is fighting for a new kidney. I’m proud of the work DaVita is doing to deliver care to West Michigan, so that people like Tina can live healthier, happier lives.

Today, I visited Elevated Tech, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that maintains 2,000+ elevators in the nation’s most iconic buildings and hospitals.

I love getting to speak with women small business owners – they’re truly forging their own paths in the world of business!

As an attorney and sitting Member of Congress, I cannot overstate how dangerous and disturbing it is to watch the President of the United States openly defy the Supreme Court. His behavior tears at the core of our democracy and is not just reckless–it’s lawless.

In honor of #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, the Congressional Mamas’ Caucus partnered with Mothering Justice and The Ariah Foundation to support a commemorative art project dedicated to honoring women of color who have lost their lives due to maternal health complications.

I truly enjoyed meeting with leaders from Coopersville and Polkton Townships today. Hearing from local leaders about issues their constituents are facing inspires to keep delivering for West Michigan.

West Michigan has a rich history in furniture production, and MillerKnoll is an important part of that history. Loved touring their Spring Lake facility today to learn more about their day-to-day work and discuss the support they need from the federal level to keep thriving.

Financial literacy can be the difference between getting by and getting ahead. It was great to talk with students with SIFMA today about the connections between Congress and Capital Markets.

Medicaid is a lifeline for tens of millions of Americans and over 2.3 million Michiganders who get their health care through this vital program.

Violence and hate have no place in our democracy. My thoughts and prayers are with Governor Shapiro and his family after the awful attack on his home. We must respond to hate not with fear, but with strength and solidarity.

Innovation and sustainability are key to the future of manufacturing in West Michigan. I had the privilege of visiting BENTELER today, a true leader in both areas. Their work is poised to leave a lasting impact on our local economy and industries around the world.

Our nonprofits do such important work for our community. I was pleased to join Michigan Nonprofit Association's Legislative Breakfast this morning to reinforce my commitment to protecting funding for nonprofits here in MI-03.

This is the United States of America–we don't have to stand for the jarring rise of child labor violations happening right before our eyes. That's why I'm leading the Congressional Child Labor Prevention Task Force–a bipartisan initiative that raises penalties for violators of our child labor laws.

On Passover, as Jewish communities retell the story of the Exodus from Egypt, we celebrate their resilience and spirit. Chag Pesach Sameach!

West Michigan, I'm always working with my team to find ways to serve you better. New changes are coming in our newsletter...make sure you're subscribed to check out the updates on Monday! Visit scholten.house.gov/subscribe

Thanks to our Spring intern cohort from our Washington D.C. office, Marlie, Kendall, and Teuma. West Michigan is grateful for your public service!

I’m all for spending taxpayer dollars responsibly, but that’s not what DOGE and the Trump Administration are prioritizing. Just last month, more than $16 million in funding for a crucial project at GRR was on hold indefinitely, potentially risking jobs and costing taxpayers MORE.

Black Mamas are 3x more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women, and many of these tragic deaths are preventable. This Black Maternal Health Week, we recommit ourselves to fight the maternal mortality crisis facing Black women in our country.

As a Member of @equality.house.gov, I’m committed to fighting for young people’s right to a robust health education and to protecting their access to preventative care to reduce the spread of HIV. #NYHAAD

It’s so crucial to keep our nation on the cutting edge, and I loved seeing CTA Tech’s exhibit with the latest and greatest in cars, software, and technological innovation from businesses big and small.

Our nation’s history has proven that creating barriers that make it harder for Americans to vote is harmful and undemocratic. But as we saw today, House Republicans seem to have forgotten that history.

The budget proposal we’re voting on is BAD for everyday Americans. The only people it benefits are the top 1% — the billionaire buddies of our billionaire president. Let’s talk about it.

Republicans are RAISING costs for everyday Americans. They just voted to RAISE overdraft fees on folks trying to put food on the table or make it to the next paycheck. This bill puts big banks and their wealthy CEOs ahead of consumers – including service members, veterans, and families.

The leaders at the African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs are empowering Black CEOs across the country to soar to their full potential. Their meaningful work is so important for our Black business owners. Great to meet with them today!

I’m wearing turquoise today to stand with the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE initiative to fight lung cancer. I’m proud to stand up against funding cuts to health research that would impact prevention, detection, and treatment of this disease.

My district office phones are experiencing technical difficulties. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. If you need to reach my office, please call 202-225-3831 or visit scholten.house.gov.

Always great to catch up with student leaders from GVSU! I’m working hard to protect crucial funding for our institutions of higher education so future generations have what they need to succeed.

Congratulations to this year’s MI-03 Congressional App Challenge Winner, Krishna, from City HS in Grand Rapids! We had many great submissions to this year’s challenge, and Team Scholten is so proud of all the young West Michiganders who are becoming the tech leaders of tomorrow. Keep coding! 💻

Back in Washington for a week full of tough votes, but I'm ready to get to work. Thankful to have the best folks in my corner ready to help me get through!

No better way to spend spring break than surrounded by West Michiganders! Thank you to everyone who came out for our spring break reception today — you all truly made Washington feel like a home away from home!

I’m thrilled to host dozens of West Michiganders for spring break in Washington this week, but their trip could be even more expensive than anticipated. Looking forward to hearing directly from West Michiganders as I fight for common sense economic policy that LOWERS your costs—not raises them.

Children belong in classrooms, not in dangerous jobs that put them at risk. As members of Congress, we must step up to protect vulnerable children, ensure companies are not profiting off of exploited labor, and hold violators accountable.

America is losing under Trump. The American people are losing under Trump. I joined Jake Tapper this morning on #CNNSOTU to talk about what is really happening on the ground.

@housedemocrats.bsky.social are standing strong in support of American workers. We called on President Trump to rescind his March 27th executive order that strips collective bargaining rights for millions of federal employees.

Medicaid is a life-saver for so many West Michiganders, which is why I’m fighting hard to protect it and prevent funding cuts. If you or someone you know would be impacted by a cut to Medicaid funding, I invite you to share your story with Team Scholten at repscholten.us/MedicaidStory.
