After re-potting and giving the pups their own space, one of them is now on the path to flowering! 🌵🌱

I miss #NormMacdonald

Could someone on #LawSky help me out with what literally constitutes fighting words? I’ve been unable to Google examples when I’ve tried, but what I just heard one of those far-right Bible cult creeps says to a woman on campus has to be fighting words or else I can’t understand the concept.

Forward section of a shuttle SRB lowered into place for STS-92 (c. 2009). The forward skirt, w its avionics, separation motors, parachutes, and more, is part of what distinguishes an SRB (Solid Rocket Booster) from an SRM (solid rocket motor). (There's also an aft skirt.) 📸 - Kennedy Media Archive

It ain't looking good, and I couldn't care less between these two teams, but all three of us have to root against the Eagles 🏈

😢

Reduce, reuse, recycle! 🌱

This pic of Bob Cabana looking at the Unity module does a great job showing the scale of the docking adapters (PMA-2 here, which has since been relocated to Harmony) prior to STS-88. But you might not have noticed that he's in the PCR, and you can see the PGHM on the left 🚀 📸 - KSC Media Archive

Every time I see the medicine ball at the gym I instinctively think of Lloyd Bridges 🥊

I'm no meteorologist but this doesn't seem normal, even for the desert ☀️ Wed - 51 deg Thu - 59 deg Fri - 68 deg Sat - 75 deg Sun - 81 deg Mon - 87 deg 0_o

Should I reply to the spaceflight journalism company that emails me that no, Trump’s day 1 executive orders weren’t “audacious”, and using a euphemism for that racist bigoted nonsense is neither neutral nor helpful?

Had some good observing last night in the backyard 🔭🌃 NGC2244 (The Satellite Cluster) and the Rosette Nebula - an open cluster of stars driving the shining nebula around it. M35 - an open cluster ~900 parsecs away, with the smaller open cluster NGC 2158 in the upper right.

Oh godammit I’ve been enjoying all the great David Lynch content here for like half-an-hour before I realized he passed. RIP, he was awesome

BREAKING: Debris seen over the Caribbean after SpaceX's Starship explodes during test flight

Me when I forget my Apple Watch at home. All these steps lost…

And, we women astronomy lovers created a tight-knit group for ourselves on Instagram and I'd love to see that here on Bluesky as well. Here's a #womeninastro #starterpack. Many are members of STELA and all are passionate about #astronomy or #astrophotography. Always looking for more to add.

Ah, so that's what they mean by the poor air quality. Be safe, everyone. From earth.nullschool.net

I know what everyone's thinking - where were the fire extinguishers on shuttle? Well, here they are. One over the PLT's shoulder, and two in the middeck (one over the side hatch and one in the ditch over the airlock hatch) 👨‍🚒 Seen below in that order. Diagram from Shuttle Crew Ops Manual (SCOM) 🚀

The only non-fly-by-wire part of the Shuttle was the landing gear, since it couldn't be reversed and accidental deployment on-orbit would be very bad. Here are the buttons the PLT would push to trigger them (ARM and DN) 👩‍🚀 (From Real Engineering: www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4FC... and GigaPan.com)

[No spoilers here] Juror #2 was great, and I’ve definitely got my own view of justice given the events. But man does he do a great job with right/wrong in his films - reminds me of how *perfect* Unforgiven was.

Living in AZ coming through clutch this year - get to see the Fiesta Bowl in person. Let's go State! 🏈
