I’m sorry. You can all be mad at journalists for this or whatever. And maybe in some cases it’s deserved. But this is a high-risk profession that’s dying. There’s little support for most working journalists who still have jobs. When you blame “the media,” blame executives. Not workers.

Just moving about town with all the confidence in the world that in a far off place only the best people are soooooo on top of this

The economics of health care need to be reconstructed. But not with a bulldozer. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/p...

For how much attention Musk is getting, for how much money he is putting into this race, and for how unpopular he and DOGE largely are, is it possible this race ends up a referendum on Musk? www.jsonline.com/story/news/p...

Every one of us has someone (family, friend, client, etc) who takes more than they give, lies rather than admit fault and clearly thinks only of themself. We all set different boundaries. I’ll bet none of us let that dude torch our retirement funds, tank our health care and fire our mail person.

Wholesale price for a dozen large white eggs is on the version of hitting $8, per USDA data.

Hi, I won’t be joining with Sauron.

My wife and daughter had a weekend away camping. Thus my son and I took in a double feature of cinematic excellence.

I’m very proud that two of my former trainees went on to join the Epidemic Intelligence Service. The EIS is earned not given. Now an entire EIS class is cut while influenza A spikes nationwide and a measles outbreak grows in Texas. This is malfeasance. #MedSky www.cbsnews.com/news/cdc-dis...

Very pleased that some of the lost snow found its way back to Milwaukee.

#Obesity often develops in childhood. In children with obesity, treatment with liraglutide for 56 weeks + lifestyle interventions induced a greater mean change in BMI than lifestyle interventions alone. Full SCALE Kids phase 3a trial results: nej.md/3MBP1uc #MedSky #PedSky

At an extended family gathering yesterday, I was able to share stories of the many people in my life who fear losing their jobs, health insurance, income and/or research funding because of current policies: Glass half empty: how do they not know? Glass half full: they were eager to learn more.

I told my friend he’s gotta talk to his neighbors about boundaries and social norms.

When the Affordable Care Act was crafted, I heard its opponents’ disingenuous but effective cries about “death panels”. How do we help our fellow citizens understand that freezing NIH funding for health research is genuinely harmful to their loves ones — grandparents, parents AND children? #MedSky

There's a lot of confusion about executive orders. POTUS is most confused of all. I clarified things here. open.substack.com/pub/goodpoli...

Yes. The family is informed upfront that I will counsel them at every clinic visit about the safety and efficacy of vaccines as well as the risks of foregoing vaccines.

“But it’s 38 degrees!” says my non-coat-wearing teenager embarking on his 2 mile walk to school. Bene Geserit Voice required to get the coat on him. Now the question is what life force do I have left for 8 hours of clinic?

I can see it now, Zach LaVine throwing out the first pitch at a Sacramento A’s game in which the #WhiteSox get shut out and Andrew Benintendi has 4 strikeouts and 2 errors.

Indiscretion with water conservation out west was one of the many zone flooding cruelties this past week. This podcast series from Colorado Public Radio was very informative on the problems and potential solutions. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/p...

My youngest won. My oldest is processing the L. I’m just not gonna help clean up.

Public health data disappeared from websites, entire webpages went blank and employees erased pronouns from email signatures Friday as federal agencies scrambled to comply with a directive tied to President Donald Trump’s order rolling back protections for transgender people.

Pretty good month for generating solar power. In January. In Wisconsin. Leave the fossils in the past. All of them.

President Trump was asked why he believes diversity initiatives played a role in the plane crash, when there's no evidence. "Because I have common sense and unfortunately a lot of people don't."

I deliberately set aside the Mister Rogers biography for this moment. I’m glad I did.

Never mind. All is well as my patient made me one of her amazing chocolate pound cakes.

I think when funding for WIC is cut off and Medicaid portals are down nationwide, we’ve crossed over from him flooding the zone for attention to he’s dismantling the checks and balances. #medsky

7 minute watch. Good reporting including acknowledgment that “this is just a band-aid”.
