Finally got around to consecrating my new Book of Shadows with a first page written in Irish in the old Gaelic font (Leaḃar Draíoċta an Ḃuitléiriġ, or Butler’s Book of Magick) alongside a poetic introduction. I was so excited for the release of #Section31 today… until I heard the godawful “Irish” accent of Sven Ruygrok, who plays Fuzz. I am so disappointed in Star Trek. It makes no sense for a South African actor to do this outdated “Oirish” accent instead of his own. Couldn’t even finish the movie.

Was off social media for ~25 days and it’s been a great way to detox and gain perspective on online behaviours and habits. Unfollowed close to 2,000 Instahunks on IG, also deactivated Threads and uninstalled FB & Messenger. Glad NYE was a good opportunity to reset myself, in more ways than one.

I look at some of the account on here and y’all are too spicy for me 😅 Weirdly, maybe, the more explicit the content, the less I’m inclined to engage or follow. Threads is good for the subtle (tasteful?) thirst traps and leaving more to the imagination. Leaves me wondering what to post here instead.

Been a busy few days in Manchester but overall very good. Still felt a little weird; last time I was here, my ex-fiancé and I broke up after 7 years. That was March ‘22, so to make new memories with new friends was something quite special to recognise just how much life had moved on. As it should.

17 year old me would be proud. ✨ Felt a strong urge lately to return to my spiritual roots. I was taught about various aspects of magick – aura sight, tarot, astrology, reiki, and crystals – by my parents as a kid, and learned more about #Wicca as a teen. Weirdly feels like it never truly left me.

Fairly happy with the result from the general election I gotta admit. Glad to see the SocDems and Labour gain seats in the Dáil, although I didn’t expect the Greens losing so many of theirs. Disappointed in the (small) gains for Aontú and Independent Ireland, but so be it.
