I recently watched INCENDIES (2010), and that sealed the deal. For me, Denis Villenueve is the most exciting director in the world right now — SICARIO, PRISONERS, ARRIVAL, DUNE I & 2 — and my personal favorite, BLADE RUNNER 2049. His films are consistently both high art and high entertainment.

My favorite David Lynch film is Lost Highway. Saw it four times in the theater when released. The fourth time wasn’t to watch it, but to listen to the subversive sound design. Lynch is in the end crawl, credited as the sound designer.
