My wife is reading the series now. Her reaction when I told her about this was, "Whaaaaa???" Needless to say, she's a fan. https://transfer-orbit.ghost.io/apple-murderbot-martha-wells-streaming-series-sci-fi-release-date

All’s quiet in the snowy neighborhood.

Rob J. Hayes's latest roundup of new book releases for February is out, featuring The Assassin's Code along with a lot of other gems.

12" of snow and blizzard conditions, coming right up!

That look.

Hot off the heels of the release of The Assassin's Code, the next book is available to preorder. In The Assassin’s Skill, the Nameless Assassin must forge an unlikely coalition of thieves, scientists, and others to stand against the Warders. https://www.scottmarlowe.com/page/the-assassin-s-skill

Here are all my Joe Abercrombie reviews to date. Any I'm missing? I'll start reading the third book in the Age of Madness series next.

It’s always lies with them.

Started the morning with a nice clap of thunder that rattled the house, then some lightning, freezing rain, and now just rain. Though we have snow in the forecast too.

So, with The Assassin's Code released, what's next? I've got two projects I'm focusing on immediately. The first is the next Nameless Assassin book, The Assassin's Skill. The second is a standalone novella starring master thief Elizabeth West from the same series. 1/2

I just finished The Trouble with Peace by Joe Abercombie and--wow!--great book. My full review is here ->

Overwhelmed by the reception readers have given The Assassin's Code since its release last week. Sales across all retailers and the first review on Amazon (5 stars!). I'm also seeing pre-orders roll in for the next book in the series due out in September. Nice!

Having a snoring dog in the room while I write is pretty much peak authorship for me.

BN.com selected The Assassin's Code as a Top Indie Favorite. 💥 ✨ Our collection of the most ANTICIPATED indie releases of February & March is now available on BN.com! 📚 Time to fall in love with your next favorite indie author! ✨ 👉 https://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/top-indie-favorites/_/N-rf4

Assassin research. Kind of an interesting article, too.

Awesome. "[T]hey discovered not only that the tunnels da Vinci alluded to in his drawings existed, but that they may only be a small piece of an intricate system weaving throughout the site." https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/archaeology/a63575036/leonardo-da-vinci-sketch-castle/?utm_sourc…

Insurrectionist felons at large, planes falling out of the sky, and a South African immigrant who supports apartheid and Nazism with access to our federal payment system and personal information. How is this making America great?

A much needed break before the new book makes its way into readers’ hands.

I'm pleased to announce that The Assassin's Code is now available at all major online retailers. More info here -> https://www.scottmarlowe.com/page/the-assassin-s-code

The Assassin's Code releases tomorrow, but you can still get it at a discount and still have it delivered overnight to your inbox. https://shop.scottmarlowe.com/b/taco

What’s that Chinese proverb about living in interesting times? I think I’d rather live in boring times.

Spot on. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Apple Maps gets it right.

Gosh, I remember when we had an actual president instead of a loudmouth bully who won't take responsibility for his actions.

All final versions--ebook, paperback, & hardcover--have been proofed and approved for release on Feb 4. That's it. I'm done. Going to be nice having this one out.

Amazon letting me know I have a new book releasing soon (1 week from tomorrow).

Worth a read.

Checking every page.

Can't say I'm too bothered by the TikTok ban since I've never used the platform.

The Assassin’s Blade crept its way back into the Top 10 free list on Apple Books. The next book in the series releases in a couple of weeks, so it’s nice to see the interest.

Way more snow than I thought we’d get.

Yesterday and today.

I've got some big plans for 2025. Chief amongst them, getting The Assassin's Code out the door, working on an all-new feature starring Elizabeth West, and a new Nameless Assassin book. #writinggoals #publishinggoals

New post on my website where I review my publishing goals from 2024. Some were completed and others not, but it gives me a starting place to begin planning 2025.

Just a dusting here in Bentonville. But damn it’s cold!

No Magic & Mayhem newsletter or story tomorrow due to me spending all my time wrapping up edits of The Assassin's Code. But M&M will return next week with an all-new original story featuring Jarek Blackwell, sorcerer hunter.

All editing tasks for The Assassin’s Code are complete. Next step, an exhaustive proofreading process and that’s it. See you on February 4th.

I’d say winter has arrived.

That went faster than expected. All major edits are done. The Assassin's Code might make it to my proofreader this weekend.

Final broad edits today. I'm on page 236 of 251. Then, I'll go through my precision editing process before handing The Assassin's Code off to my proofreader. Almost there. #writingprogress
