Working on something a little different for this year's #MARCHintosh / #GlobalTalk calling card 😉 (full disclosure: I really don't know C that well, so this is a mashup of a couple tutorials from old books and it's not _that_ impressive. But it will work all the way back to System 1!)

(🧵 1/6) Spent the day visiting with the parents, and so Dad and I took another crack at repairing my #Amiga #A500. This computer is _still_ kicking my ass, but we've gotten further than we did last time.

Folks are posting about their #MARCHintosh plans, this year I just have one and it's the one I didn't get to last year: organizing and archiving the collection of floppies from my childhood. I'm pretty sure I've got a few apps that aren't archived online yet - or different versions of ones that are.

Update: if you couldn't see my PDF printer on #GlobalTalk this past week, you should be able to see it now. Thanks to everyone who helped me troubleshoot this!

Thanks to help from @[email protected] I now have a virtual PDF printer set up and working on my #GlobalTalk node! Using the Chooser, select LaserWriter and the "GlobalTalk PDF Printer" printer. Then, connect to the "GlobalTalk Print Jobs" share to see your print job as a PDF file!

(🧵 1/10) I thought I'd be bringing my #Amiga #A500 home today, but, this computer is kicking my ass 😅 The keyboard membrane has been replaced with a new PCB, and broken key plungers were replaced too. The switches were cleaned with Deoxit, and the keycaps were scrubbed with soap, water, and Windex.
