Finally caught up with this little blighter after a fruitless winter scouring the Sherbrook. @westmidbirdclub.bsky.social

Driving back from Wales tonight there was some crazy flooding along the Tanat Valley. Stretching from the top of the Berwyns, through Llangynog all the way to Llynclys. Never seen anything like it there before. Several stretches of road were barely passable. Take care all.

It's a Seafood Chowder sort of day at Dylan's Criccieth.

Well done Cyngor Gwynedd for having not only flower beds in Pwllheli, but also some wild butterfly beds. @iolowilliams.bsky.social

I found the Mountain Hares from a distance with my Pulsar Axion 2 Thermal Imager. #birdinggear

I went to The Gut at Culbin for a waderfest (hundreds of Knot, Dunlin, Barwit, Oystercatchers and Curlew) and then to Loch Spynnie where the Tree Sparrows (30+) and Red Squirrels were a real treat. #BirdingScotland

Some extreme nature spotting today on the high Cairngorm plateau. Saw 3 Mountain Hares and 46 Snow Buntings but only the tracks of Ptarmigan (which I've seen before). Blurry photo of Snow Buntings flying over me on the Fiacall Ridge. Better pic at ski centre. #BirdingScotland

West Midland Bird Club's own Liz Clipson is presenting the Stafford Branch's next exciting evening talk. Tuesday 11th, Walton Village Hall. All welcome for what promises to be a fascinating insight into Swedish birds. Details below....

A trip along the Moray coast today. Very cold but bright and clear so the glare made seawatching difficult. The sea ducks were well offshore. Plenty of shorebirds though. Highlights were Sanderling at Culbin and Purple Sandpipers at Burghead Bay. #BirdingScotland @westmidbirdclub.bsky.social

The beautiful Strathdearn (Findhorn Valley) bringing it's A-game today. It was gloriously sunny and blue, if a little cold, and produced: 1 Golden Eagle 2 Goshawk 2 Red Kite 5 Buzzard Plus Dipper & 2 Red Squirrels. A brilliant morning's birding. #BirdingScotland @westmidbirdclub.bsky.social

Dark and -7 plus windchill on the moors outside Grantown this morning. 2 hours feeling the cold seep into my bones 🥶 Nine Blackcock at lek? Priceless. No photos, too distant and my fingers wouldn't work anyway 🤣 #birdingscotland @westmidbirdclub.bsky.social

On my way to the Cairngorms. Thought I'd hook a left to try for the male Smew at Broadwood Loch.... #BirdingScotland @westmidbirdclub.bsky.social

Does anyone know if the drake Smew is still at Broadwood Loch? Can't find anything after Sunday. #BirdingScotland

Green-Winged Teal, @westmidbirdclub.bsky.social Belvide Reservoir. Still on the North shore from the Gazebo hide at 12:45pm.

Foggy morning at @westmidbirdclub.bsky.social Belvide Reservoir. Missed the Smew but caught up with the Green-Winged Teal. Plenty of Goldeneye about as well as a Peregrine which sat on a post preening for a long time. Met Stuart from Stoke who was on his first visit to the reserve.

More Fallow Deer thermal videos from Cannock Chase. Showing a small herd of does and fawns. In the 1st video a fawn leaves a trail of droppings which glow white as they are warmer than the ground they fall on. @cannockwildlife.bsky.social @Staffsmammalgroup.bsky.social
