I went from 4 active applications down to 1 in a couple of days. Including the one I was really focused on, I didn't get it. It's a really difficult time for the industry, plus my visa requirement and the lack of Tech Art jobs in Canada. Im going to have to concede and go back to the UK I think 😔

Just waiting on that final email that either has the job offer or not. The stress and tension beats any film or video game

omg just caught someone referencing my blog for the first time🥳

In some good news I passed my interview test. Just wish I could have been laid off at a different time. Having to wait for the Christmas holidays to be over before continuing any of my interview process is not great for my anxiousness

Job hunt is going well so far, out of the 19 jobs across canada only 13 havent gotten back to me. Only 3 rejections and 3 in interview process.

It's a wrap, had an awesome time in Canada #Gamedev #layoffs

Looking through old side projects and found this nice little setup of using watabou.itch.io/medieval-fan... and generating buildings in Houdini. Never quite finished it though #gamedev #techart

I have no yellow ledge paint in my games, only the vivid pink of a broken shader

I've published a new blog post on some of the skill requirements for a Technical Artist. Check it out! open.substack.com/pub/temperan...

Yes I see the irony in writing a blog post on getting a job as a technical artist, when l am currently unemployed

My current game dev project is creating a list of projects with cool code names and then not doing anything with them

I've started my Technical Art focused blog. My first post is a summary of portfolio tips, come check it out! tinyurl.com/4sk4asn8

Hi there, I'm Scott a technical artist in game dev. I've worked at Mediatonic, Epic and Rebellion. Currently in between jobs at the moment, moving to Canada soon. I'm primarily a pipeline and tools TA but I enjoy working with artists to get their concept working and looking good :)

Lemon cake. Important starting post.

Been working on starting my own blog. Coming up with a logo for technical art is godamn difficult
