Been a little quiet on here for a while, and not for no reason. The trade situation here in the US has made pricing out the #neoncityoutlaws game Kickstarter really challenging. The bad news is that with the current state of things a box set full of goodies like DCO/Spectaculars is too costly.

I really can’t say enough good things about the Spectaculars rpg. Right now it’s hitting my sweet spot for superhero action with cinematic action, tactical choices, fun powers, pre-made adventures, and really fast chargen.

Just got the first box mockup for #neoncityoutlaws and I think it looks rad. What do you think?

Session zero last night for our new campaign of Spectaculars from @scratchpadpub.bsky.social ! I did not expect my players to take us to 1980s Hong Kong after an alien spaceship crash devastated the city and triggered the appearance of super-powered people, but we're there now and I LOVE it.

One of the tools I've been using to add ambiance to Neon City Outlaws playtests is #Dystopika, an awesome cyberpunk city-builder that makes it really easy to create cityscapes with custom billboards/signage.

I want loading minds into/out of bodies to be central to the #neoncityoutlaws game. I'm tinkering with physical components that makes body-swapping fast and easy. The gene-spliced "werewolf" is one of those quick-swap bodies. Here's the latest evolution of that concept art by @atrabilio.bsky.social

For #neoncityoutlaws, I'm working on a slightly different take on the scenarios, blending them more with the Spectaculars-esque setting creation elements. It's been interesting trying to decide what should become a setting-level element, and what can be defined by and for the scenario.
