I am very much a Scream 2-Scream 3 person. These two sequels show Wes Craven’s imprint on the story, in particular the way the melodrama is developed, the perfection of Sidney’s arc, and advancing Gale & Dewey as truly important parts of the franchise.

I saw Scream 3 in the theater on a blind date. It has become one of my favorites in the franchise. While I do not think the opening kills are suspenseful enough, it is still a wonderful movie. And it had one of my favorite lines: He was making a movie called Stab...he was stabbed. Go listen!

What I loved about scream 5: we had more than just legacy survivors. What I didn't like about Scream 6 was that everyone survived. What makes Scream a great franchise is that we feel the deaths. I love Chad, but he should have died. We need to go back to the Casey Becker feeling. That's Scream!

I would love to see Scream 7 go back to the style of the cast-lineup posters of the original trilogy, rather than the overly busy Marvel-esque posters of 5 & VI. Sight unseen, this is the perfect lineup in my opinion: Mason Gooding > Courteney Cox > Neve Campbell < Patrick Dempsey < Isabel May.
