#Alphabetchallenge #WeekXforX HENRICVS REX MILES. ON. OCSE So obviously it's a medieval silver penny of King John. Minted by Miles of Oxford. 1204-1206 AD

A few of my better Roman brooch finds. Apart from the odd single find, these mostly come from 3 areas over two farms

To keep good time and to prevent it falling over, a grandfather clock needs fixing to the wall. Look in any grand house and you'll probably see a tatty lump of wood, from the back of the shed. Not me, I went to town, with a nice piece of oak 😁

A complete silver Medieval penny of Edward I (AD 1272-1307) Class 2a Dating to January to May AD 1280 Mint of London Ref: North 1980: 22. (N 1014) The unique identifyer for this class is the broken central fleur on the crown (visible using a magnifier)

When you have 30 hinges to cut, 10 minutes making a template pays off 😊

9th June 2020 A trio of medieval finds, 2 pennys and a buckle. Edward I/II, mint of Durham, 1279-1327 Edward I, mint of London, 1280.

On the narrow gauge today at the Bure Valley Railway, with a couple of visitors from the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway

I found this gorgeous Late Medieval gold ring, this day, 28 years ago Inscription could be based on the French phrase "TOUT POUR VOUS", All for you A ring with the same wording was found in the Thame Hoard, dated c1460 Pre @findsorguk.bsky.social , recorded locally with @SCCArchaeology

This coin was made near here, in the city of Camulodunum, by Cunobelin, a king in pre Roman Britain, c. 1-40 AD

Obverse: Ear of corn, CA MV flanking. Abbreviation for the city of Camulodunum. Reverse: Horse right, branch over, ragged mane, CV[N] below. Abbreviation of Cunobelin (Colchester Castle @colmuseums.bsky.social , standing on the foundations of the Roman Temple of Claudius.)

Following a tip off, we were searching a different location for them elusive sharks teeth. No luck today, but I'm not sure exactly where we need to be.

Come visit Hollytrees Museum and learn about the Georgian class system AND that you're getting ever closer to becoming a museum artefact yourself. 😘

When your childhood is in a museum 😱😂🤣 @colmuseums.bsky.social

#Morningwalk today was early before anyone else was out in the chilly weather. Wallabies out early having breakfast. The bees have mostly closed the hole in the tree with wax. Too chilly for them.

#Alphabetchallenge #WeekWforWacky Literally...... 😂🤣

From this day 2021. An incomplete Anglo-Scandinavian strap connector. 11th-12th century?

#Alphabetchallenge #WeekWforWacky For me, a really wacky portrait. 🤪 The dies for this coin were made at Berwick-upon-Tweed, not London. The portrait falls well below the standard of those London produced dies.

Sir Findsalot might be all powerful, but he's rubbish at archery... 😆

Early day, and not from from Sutton Hoo. So hello Timeteam 👋
