List 5 famous people you’ve met, but one is a LIE: 1) Peter Falk 2) Bill Gates 3) John Travolta 4) Tommy Wiseau 5) Brian DePalma

“…suspected she had lived on a diet of roadkill and dam water.” These little condo dogs are beasts.

Fine, if I want a gif of Diane Ladd guzzling a martini in Wild at Heart, I guess I’m going to have to track down a disc and rip it myself.

The new Brian Eno / Bette A book ‘what art does’ is triumphant because of its simplicity—no small feat. Expecting to see this on everyone’s shelves by the end of the year.

No Country for Old Men at @vidiots.bsky.social tonight. Was not prepared for how funny this bleak film is. It felt like tense horror in 2007, but with the right audience— it’s also laugh out loud funny in several parts.

Sunday night — we celebrate Orly’s birthday. Looking forward to hearing the gang and spec. guests Sleepy Cat and Jeremiah Jude. Live hardware techno in Pasadena.

Great interview with Steve Reich. I love this part, ‘You don't get an award for subject matter. You get an award for how well you do something. But sometimes the subject matter will force you to do something better than you would have done without it.’

Just grabbed Fors’s Dyad, which is something between a DFAM and a Labyrinth. Beautifully designed to work with the Push — or just Ableton as a M4L device. It’s a couple of sequencers, but it really feels like a complete thought. Had an afternoon watching Treat’s vids on YT.

Saw this again today. Looks like it’s only in the Dolby Theater for a week, and I actually enjoyed in more the second time. I love how the soundtrack is a counterpoint to the absurdity and horror, and it finishes with a real sense of beauty.
