They should have put woba on an ops scale rather than obp. Make 750 avg. then 1.000 can be amazing This is personally terrible but when I see woba and it’s 389. I always think that’s great but what’s his slugging?

Ok folks. I’m a the Phillies and despite my remonstrations the Phillies are still using war from the home of the hated nationals and their scoreboard display still sucks. So I thought I’d try to work out what might be better. Feel free to make suggestions.

Pop won 790 games after his 60th birthday—he also had 686 wins before age 60. Gregg Popovich's coaching stats: www.basketball-reference.com/coaches/popo...

With the caveat that we really don't know our heroes, etc. I do take Popovich as an example of someone who can achieve excellence, be generous to others, and also stay true to important and sometimes difficult values.

NBA Refs should be fined for every meeting that lasts more than 30 seconds.

Has MLB ever once promoted this museum? In stadium? On the network or the website?

Spending my second afternoon at the Jackie Robinson museum in manhattan. It is really well done imo and sadly pretty empty both times. Displays are great and wonderful artifacts. www.jackierobinsonmuseum.org

At the Phillies game and I marvel at the scoreboard choices. My guesses at the percent of fans who know these stats. HR. 90% Avg. 85% OBP 50% OPS 35% Woba. 1% xWOBA 36 people Home runs are gone after first time thru the order. Wait it’s on a secondary board.

No WAR yet on the Phillies scoreboard so I can’t yet voice my annual gripe about the @phillies.com not using locally sourced stats.

See guys. Winners cry. Pretty manly if you ask me.

How amazing would it be if we had physical telemetry on these players in the Masters? Heart Rate, cortisol levels and probably a half dozen other things I would love to see. All of the other sports are wearing heart rate monitors. Are any golfers?

You set the house on fire, watched it burn, and then lost your nerve and put it out. You now have a partially burned house. Great job.
