For generations, Indigenous peoples have gathered on this land to build community and culture. But Danielle Smith’s separatist rhetoric undermines the true meaning of Indigenous treaties, putting Alberta's future at risk. It doesn't need to be that way. We can and must do better. #VoteforBetter

We need leaders who will acknowledge the reality and ensure people know what steps we need to take.

Canada Post wants to create a new class of flexible, part-time worker that will better compete with Amazon and implement “dynamic routing” so delivery routes can be changed on the fly. It’s a good example of how Amazon degrades workers’ rights even beyond its walls. Workers are right to push back.

The Danielle Smith Legislative Ledger – Part Three: The Sleeper Bills The wrecking ball keeps swinging. Danielle Smith didn’t just pass a lot of legislation — she passed some of the most quietly dangerous bills you’ve never heard of. This is Part Three. An #ableg 🧵.

Carney limits G7 guests to one assassination each

The new conservative PM of Canada is sure pushing things ahead full steam. This is actually a veiled threat that they will be criminalizing Indigenous opposition to resource projects soon. Libs gonna Lib.

The Danielle Smith Legislative Ledger – Part Two: The Wrecking Ball Keeps Swinging The bills that didn’t make headlines. The ones that rewired Alberta quietly, methodically, and permanently. This isn’t noise. It’s memory. It’s fuel. #ableg 🧵

The final days of the Alberta Legislature’s Spring 2025 session pissed me off. I rolled up my sleeves right after and started a research project. I present to you all an #ableg 🧵: Danielle Smith’s Legislative Wrecking Ball: Part One

How Canadian, it's now a ZEDbra!

".......but the NDP can't form government!"

Carney can't stand with Palestinians today. Maybe later; they'll make a decision.

Been thinking about this in Canadian context. Many powerful people continue openly supporting Canadian-backed genocide, while others dismantle life-saving harm-reduction measures as they pocket the blood money. Shaming these people after a public inquiry in 2045 does nothing. They count on that.

Meet White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt! She loves crosses, she loves the President, and she loves the truth, which is whatever the hell she says it is. youtu.be/QTMrIaDVE6I?...

With Bill C-2, the Canadian government threatens to chip away at that right, making it harder for people seeking safety and freedom to file an asylum claim and have it assessed fairly. amnesty.ca/human-rights...

An online fake news outlet called Vocal Media has appropriated my name for a story I didn't write. It clearly grabbed this off a CBC site because I'm a former investigative reporter at CBC but still working. Anyone have an idea how I can force them to remove my name? vocal.media/critique/exp...

Murray Edwards could give those businesses some of the money he saved by taxpayers funding his arena. City could have helped them, but Coun. Wong and the others said Edwards didn't have to risk too much.

381. That’s how many people experiencing homelessness died on Edmonton streets in 2024. These are more than numbers. These are people who loved and were loved. They are so missed. We need to do so much better.

NEW: There's no sugarcoating it. The Liberals' proposed Strong Borders Act represents a total betrayal of voters who elected Carney to stand up to Trump. www.readtheorchard.org/p/carney-ben...

I wonder if the government banked on the idea that their border bill would get Trump to halt the tariff hike, and since that didn't work, they're now scrambling to plan their retaliation...either way, not a great situation!

Oohhh, liberals are big mad that progressives won't support a Canadian Patriot Act.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Fraser said Assembly of First Nations National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak called him Tuesday night to express her frustration with his comments.

The University of Alberta has opened up a lactation station. They had a celebration and invited the news. This is being covered without noting that at the same time, they slashed ALL funding to their six affiliated child care centres.
