If I make it to my time off tomorrow without an absolute meltdown first it will be a miracle.

"I asked ChatGPT" "I asked Grok" ok well I asked Gandalf and he said he has not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a witless worm

The Year of Blue stories are often my favourites when I get a new issue of Interzone, including this one.

Does anyone else feel like the closer you get to some time off, the harder it is to keep going with work? Every hour that passes this week feels tougher than the previous one.

He taught me how to ask for help when I need it, and how to ask for what I'm worth in the workplace, among so many other things, big and small. He's still teaching me. Today he tried to teach me how to golf, but let's just say it was with mixed results.

Golfing for the first time in my life later today, with my dad, and I'm very excited to discover more ways in which I am uncoordinated. I brought him to the ballet last night and it was extremely not his thing, so I guess I had this coming.

Garden update for those who bloomscroll: the peonies have arrived! Just looking at them really brightens an otherwise frustrating day.

hey! Haymarket is making our book No Cop City, No Cop World: Lessons from the Movement FREE in ebook form for the next 12 days! hopefully it's very clear this book is not about making money (& it won't 😂) lol so please tell everyone to download it if they want!

First poppy of the year!

How dare a book make me feel my own feelings? (These Lifeless Things, by Premee Mohamed)

I've read both of these in the last year and they are both SO good.

Today is National Biscuit Day, and it’s about time that I populated this account with biscuit (cookie) sets from the past few years. Here are some of my favourites. 🧵 First up, a set inspired by the delicious designs of William Morris and John Henry Dearle.

Getting up early to enjoy some peace and quiet would work a heck of a lot better if everyone else didn't decide to get up early today too.

I am once again daydreaming about moving to the Scottish Highlands, or perhaps Cornwall. I miss living in a landscape that inspires me.

Can't a girl eat in peace? 🪶 This pair of rose breasted grosbeaks has been hanging around the feeders a lot this month. I love them.

This red-bellied woodpecker has been visiting a lot this spring. A real bully at the feeder but I just love the pop of color on the head. 🪶

It's 8:38am and I am already overstimulated. Happy Friday.

Hey did you know you could get a blister on your eyeball from rubbing your eyes too much? This discovery brought to you by seasonal allergies.

I'm trying to work out a budget for moving and lolsob why did my car choose this month to give up

Not the best photo, but I just love the vibrant colours I'm seeing in the trees these days. 🪶

It really cannot be overstated how much the backyard birds are doing for my sanity 🪶

Everything is too much all the time, but today the sun is out, the orioles are back in the yard, I have a new Waverly Jones book on my kobo, I've fixed the coffee maker and it's all these seemingly smaller things that are helping to stop me from falling apart.

I should have gone back to bed.
