It is frustrating that the final speech was a stern warning about a rising oligarchy, and yet with all the actual authority to do something about it, absolutely nothing was done to protect the US from it. Extremely disappointing. But not entirely surprising.

RCS is not often end-to-end encrypted, even between Google Messenger. That's why it's in the bottom tier of my preferred messaging apps focused on privacy/encryption. Google's claims are highly misleading. daringfireball.net/linked/2024/... (h/t @sansisc.bsky.social for bringing this up today!)
