How would children improve transport? This list looks good to me. Government support for these actions is an investment in future generations, and has long term benefits for public health, communities and the environment. Great work from Sustrans & Halfords.

Shout out to all my conflict-phobes hiding in a cupboard rather than watching grown men have a what should have been a private conversation in front of the world's news outlets

Today I learned safety information signs glow in the dark in the event the train shuts down

I set up a simple zap to send me a text when a certain work KPI happens. It's only 10.30am and I already *deeply* understand pavlov's dog

Hands up if you miss @louisehaighmp.bsky.social in the Transport driving seat...

The conversations on @podstreetsahead.bsky.social about active travel and the broad strokes of how investment and infrastructure work have been incredibly formative for me - Laura consistently brings understanding and positivity to the subject This type of thing deserves support 👇

On Friday I learned my monthly Cycling Plus column has ended. As a freelancer work comes and goes, and I'm hugely grateful for the three years I had. Where a door closes, etc., so I'll be posting on Substack instead. Here's a quick post by way of introduction. It's a bit of a new adventure

#Bradford evening

Really interesting from @centreforcities.bsky.social - the ability of an area to bring in money from elsewhere directly contributes to the money in people's pockets they have to keep local economies going www.centreforcities.org/blog/why-nor...

I'm getting pretty flipping good at remembering my 2FA codes for 6 seconds😏

🤌🏿

Due to work I need to write "aluminium" and "efficiency" a lot today and I cannot type either word without extreme care and lots of slowly saying the words in my head

Getting some JS code right* first time is one of the few remaining opportunities I have to literally punch the air. *pasting bits in the right place from stack overflow

I don't deal well with conflict I'm not involved with. A man in the vets is very politely perturbed by his service and I'm sat here gibbering in the corner

Counterpoint to the £291m news for active travel investment in England. The junction capacity scheme at junction 10 of the M25 is budgeted at £317m and this week, we've heard it has been delayed for completion due to weather and that figure's going up.

If the farmers get the same punishment as Just Stop Oil, that's about 6000 years for them. Of course there will be nothing.

I've been thinking about it and I don't think there is ever ever ever a reason for me to see a picture of someone in a private jet.

I made a thing and I think I ❤️ it! Repurposing a child’s kickstand and an ATV flag to create a visual reminder of what 3 feet is for drivers. It’s hard to gauge distances at speed. This flexible and strong flag should provided much needed space to my family as we use our #CargoBike for travel.

I think it is normal to build with healthy and biodegradable materials long lasting buildings for our children. How about you? Extension and rehabilitation of a straw-built nursery school in Nomain, France #strawhouse #strawbuilding Kontext Architectes kontext-architectes.fr/project/exte...

This could be the worst parking I've ever seen

Weird how they rarely ever mention costs for this type of work but it's always "£750,000 cycle lane to begin construction" www.bbc.com/news/article...

Cringe: Just remembered that at an event a few days ago someone told me they were giving a talk and I said "Oh yeah? What about?" He made me repeat "What about?" two more times because he didn't understand what I'd said with my stupid mouth

A thriving downtown business district, brought to you, mostly, by the bicycle. #Utrecht Een prachtig drukke zakendistrict in het centrum van de stad, dat je grotendeels per fiets en lopend kunt bereiken.

Really, REALLY good session with @a11ynorth.com in Leeds tonight - service design is fascinating. Interesting speakers and great use of the GDS/Gov design system to show how accessibility is more than just technical stuff

Four more examples of recent cycle lanes created along departmental roads in the French countryside. The first example is a very short lane that addresses a critical need for cyclists : it connects two quiet little perpendicular roads that do not directly align across the main road.

1. Ebike subsidies??? 2. Used electric cars are SO cheap right now - like unbelievably cheap. Underwriting loans for an item that cannot hold it's value is insane. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Four more examples of recent cycle lanes created along departmental roads in the French countryside. Many French people themselves are unaware it happens. Here, I’m only showing recent examples for which before-and-after comparisons are possible, there are also cycle lanes that were built long ago

Stamp Duty discounts*: -33% for buying a property with solar panels -33% for battery storage -33% for a heat pump *I googled and this isn't a new idea but it would be a hell of a thing. Also only applicable for the first time you buy a qualifying property
