Even experienced developers might be less familiar with the crazy world of JS evolution. Have a light hearted history lesson in your lunch break, courtesy of the work from Ryan Dahl, Bun, and countless others. developer.vonage.com/en/blog/choo... #javascript #typescript

Absolutely gutted to note that the CfP has opened up for LonghornPHP, and I can't respond because it is not safe for me to do so, should I be accepted. Heartbreaking.

New T shirt just arrived.

Of course Manchester United have turned up and produced the best display this season. Of course they have. It wouldn't be against any other team. #avfc live only to give the occasional delight to Man U.

Parents who take young children to theme parks; are we all pretending this is even remotely enjoyable?

Also signs I have gone past 40: I used next doors unwanted old giant path lining stones to start a rockery.

As promised after posting that my neighbours put a massive carpet of plastic that won't drain and will superheat their garden, I am gradually filling mine with actual green things that are alive.

It has taken my neighbours 3 years to finally sort out a messy garden after buying the house. They put a giant slab of fake plastic grass on it. Just that. Nothing else. It goes all the way to the right, double the distance. Our planet is cooked.

I really know the struggle! Great talk at #phpday @secondej.bsky.social 👏

Next up we have Laura Durieux on generative AI work @api-platform.com #phpday

The billion row situation, final result: 27sec in #php.

CAN I JUST SAY THAT AT LUNCH GINA BANYARD SHOWED ME A WORKING EXAMPLE OF GENERICS WORKING IN PHP

Second talk of the day here at phpday and seeing @secondej.bsky.social talking about how CLIs aren't as easy you think. Always a great talk when Jim's presenting!

Florian Engelhardt from @datadoghq.com throws in the one billion row challenge using #php

At #phpday we have Simone D'Amico on new approaches to server side rendering in #php. Props to @symfony.com for ux and @laravel.com for Livewire

Hello Verona, you are close to beating Dresden as my most favourite business trip. PS. this is the face of someone that woke up at 3am

In 2016, the late, great, Andy Weatherall introduced me to Confidence Man. In 2021, "Holiday" by Confidence Man was released and it instantly became my favourite pop song for years. In 2025, Lola Young has nailed it. This is amazing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-k2...

"Unexpected news for a Developer Advocate"

Missed The Dev Radio Live 2? No problem. www.mixcloud.com/mrsirrus/the... No editing, just the live feed, complete with my ropey drum and bass beat matching and Mr Weebls amazing dubstep remix of his classic "badger badger badger".

We just reached 70 profiles on the Larabelles directory! larabelles.com/directory Go and have a look at all those amazing Larabelles there! And if you have an event coming up or a job opening, this is a way to connect with some very cool and interesting people.

Quite excited to pick up @brendt.bsky.social 's Tempest Framework to try and hack in some Network API stuff from Vonage. Been a -long- time since I've learned a new framework!

It's The Dev Radio Live, at 1pm BST today. Friday lunchtime, crank up the volume and smash those Jira tickets out, weekend style. www.twitch.tv/thedevradio

Inheriting legacy #PHP codebases is never simple, is it? Luckily, the #PEST testing framework comes with an array of useful tooling to speed up your onboarding and initial analysis. developer.vonage.com/en/blog/cont...
