I started reading Serj Tankian's (System of a Down lead singer) memoir and holy moly I can't put it down! It is an awesome book and though I was expecting a history of the band only, I also got a very well-articulated and insightful history of Armenian genocide and America's complicity in it.

While the world burns down around us, I watched the Game Awards and was very 'meh' about the games that won awards. I don't have a PlayStation, so I won't comment on the quality of Astrobot, but my GOTY from those games was Balatro hands down. Glad to see it got some recognition as being pure joy.

Had an hours long no call with an auditor this morning but somehow escaped with no findings and just two follow up tasks! Took out some frustration and leftover anxiety in my lunch break workout! 100% accuracy! You better block these hands cuz I don't miss!

Despite having built a house and specifically added Christmas light plugs in the eaves, this is the first year I actually got up on a ladder and actually put up Christmas lights! It isn't flashy like getting my masters or scoring a bounty, but to me it is a marathon so GO ME!

Well today I am officially the father of a teenager. He is homeschooled, so free from the influence of other angsty and mean teens. He also doesn't have access to social media at all so I am going to be testing whether the angsty, 'I hate kid things now' attitude will occur naturally or not.

I somehow, despite all odds arrayed against me and under extreme siege from adversarial forces have managed to write 1300 words this morning. After only writing 300 last night from just being totally burned out and having "other plans", this feels great. It was a bit of exposition sobbing but...eh
