Perhaps we *do* need to start anthropomorphising LLMs - not as reliable researchers or trusty assistants, but as familiar spirits or demons. They WILL lie and deceive, and twist your words, and seek to get you into trouble, while following the letter of their instructions.

The correct way to read this: Russia is TERRIFIED at the prospect of facing NATO troops. The Ukrainians have bled them white; facing soldiers trained and equipped to NATO standards they'd have nothing left to fight with at peer level. This is an admission of Russian weakness, not strength.
