Republican events for a month now (including Inauguration Day!) have featured a prominent Nazi salute & legacy media outlets ignore it. Seems like a trend worth covering, no? Maybe access to the Nazi party shouldn't be prioritized??

DOGE’s accounting of its “savings” is riddled with sloppy mistakes. The five largest cuts that it listed on its website earlier this week were all incorrect — making the savings look far larger than they were in reality.

Oh hey look I found waste and fraud!

Something I've now heard from federal worker constituents at several agencies: Musk and Trump's mass firings are clearing out all personnel from FOIA offices and leaving them completely empty, it sounds obviously intentional.

Before you put up some cool AI image, ask yourself--would you go a day without electricity in your home to get that image? Would you dump a bucket of toxic sludge in a nearby waterway to get that image? Because it may seem quick, simple and easy, but somewhere, a price is being paid.

In case you need a teaching example of the social construction of quantitative data... www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

Well what we DO know is that the guy who is replacing him ISN’T qualified. He does not meet the qualifications for the position other than he is white and presumably partisan. bUt mUH dEi

Another six-byline alarm on DOGE’s specious accounting. “That contract wasn’t canceled by DOGE or anyone else,” he said. “If they took credit for canceling the contract, they’re lying.” @nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

Mr. Hegseth has previously said that General Brown should be fired because of his “woke” focus on diversity, equity and inclusion programs in the military. Replaces a Black four-star fighter pilot with a white man who does not meet the statutory qualifications supposedly over DEI.

Don't let them gaslight you: It's a Nazi salute

I know. Others know. Some of us are calling balls and strikes. Others had their balls removed and have struck out.

What the fuck

NSF changed my life for the better. I was working as an engineer in NY and got a call from my potential advisor that his grant on climate decision-making just was awarded, could I start the doctoral program in a month? Three weeks later I was there. Everyone deserves these types of opportunities.

Trump pardoned the sentence of arguably the single biggest drug trafficker in American history on his second day in office!

Usually when states go to court alleging federal coercion in violation of the 10th Amendment there is not a literal video of the President doing it.

How shocking that after basically every major economist predicted Trump's policies would be bad for the economy and America elected him anyway, that we'd start seeing signs of a troubled economy a month into his term. Who could possibly have predicted that?🙄 (Do we really need a sarcasm font?)

Come on The stupid is just so stupid

Yes And it’s incredible that people don’t seem to care how the trans community is being treated and no one is screaming. These are humans- and you are next. Come on people.

Huh. Interesting. Wonder why that happened?

Man, it's a shame nobody warned consumers that prices wouldn't magically return to 2019 and that a deranged tyrant would spike inflation again.

This is an excellent, fact-filled article with video segments to answer questions about Trump & Putin’s “illegitimate president” propaganda war against Zelensky.

This dude gets it.

This is a big deal for Social Security: SSA has the majority of the government’s administrative law judges. They decide appeals on disability cases. More later… www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/u...

Quite simply THE BEST article I've read on the rise of the populist far-right and the urgent need for progressives to wake up to the new realities. I can't recommend it highly enough.
