For the people in the back (aka dark ages)

Even to the extent that she was there on Michigan's behalf, what is it going to take to convince people normal politics is over? If it's not undesirables who haven't done anything being sent to a gulag or people getting arrested for their opinions, what will it take? What would Trump have to do?

The upheaval in stocks has been grabbing all the headlines, but there is a bigger problem looming in another corner of the financial markets that rarely gets headlines: Investors are dumping U.S. government bonds.

Heparin is cheap and essential to millions of hospitalized people. Tariffs could disrupt the supply chain that gets ingredients from China to their beds.

Even after today's China exemptions, the effective tariff rate on all goods coming into the US is still roughly TEN TIMES what it was before Trump came into office. Via Paul Ashworth of Capital Economics:

It’s like the dumbest people alive run America Like someone who bankrupted how many businesses?

Don't tell me Mahmoud Khalil standing with Jewish people for justice for Palestine is antisemitic when you pardoned the Nazi terrorist wearing a "Camp Auschwitz" shirt as he violently stormed the Capitol to hang Mike Pence & kill Nancy Pelosi. Shame on the MAGA regime & every silent politician.

At the risk of sounding flippant, if you find this surprising coming from RFK Jr, you probably haven’t paid enough attention to RFK Jr. You might be Bill Cassidy.

Speechless 😶

Wow

Paging Governor Whitmer

I tried to warn people that he's nuts. I mean, really nuts: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Before folks overreact to headlines about the judge’s ruling in the Khalil case, please note that (1) it was an immigration judge (IJ), not a federal district court; and (2) the IJ had no power to consider Khalil’s constitutional objections. This particular decision was a fait accompli.

In other news

Welp, I guess the bare-bones letter from Rubio was determined to be “facially reasonable and bona fide.” Note that this was largely expected; the standard is exceptionally deferential. This decision will be appealable up to the Board of Immigration Appeals, and then again to the circuit courts.

I’m speechless He needs to resign now

This is a profound miscarriage of justice and threat to all of us.

3 days ago RFK Jr. told the CDC to stop recommending water fluoridation, claiming it was a neurotoxin (this is a lie). Turns out he also just eliminated the CDC’s entire Lead Program, and now lead poisoned children in Milwaukee are just on their own. Lead IS a neurotoxin and harms brain development

Literally called it as it was happening It was clear as day that Fox programmed for Trump. Dimon may as well have been reading a script- he may have been.

If I were Judge Xinis, I would order the government to produce, in her courtroom, officials who were in a position to answer her questions and to do so under oath. Letting DOJ continue to prevaricate and deflect responsibility in written submissions seems ... insufficient at this point.

No Someone just fucking say no We’re not doing this. We’re not using Twitter for government business. No.

If you've never had pertussis, let me assure you, it's *dreadful.* The "100-days cough" is real. I lost over 20 pounds trying to breath, in my 40s. Imagine what that would do to a little who doesn't have that much to lose. Which is why babies & Elders are at risk for death from pertussis.

US consumer sentiment plummets to second-lowest level on records going back to 1952 The University of Michigan says consumer sentiment just hit a 3-year low. Why? Inflation fears are surging again. People are worried about prices, interest rates, and where the hell this economy is headed.

None of this is about antisemitism or trans athletes or DEI It is about about imploding the pact between government and universities that has sustained R&D and economic development in this country since WWII

Hello Dems Wake up

Never forget: they are actively trying to destroy the planet too.

Let’s be honest Trump makes everyone feel unhappy. He is abusive and it makes you feel powerless. For so many it triggers a trauma response. People want a government that works for them. This isn’t it. And few are stupid enough to believe things are going well.

The answer was We follow the laws She failed

They are literally the anti DOJ

It’s a self induced recession In 2.5 months this fucker and his fuckettes have destroyed the economy, raised prices, destroyed our standing in the world, and lost most of us a lot of money. The kicker… people are still scared of him. The media is still propping him. It’s such a joke.

"A Wall Street Journal analysis of daily financial statements issued by the Treasury Department found government spending since the [Trump] inauguration is $154 billion more than in the same period in 2024 during the administration of former President Joe Biden."

It's from the Yale Budget Lab. budgetlab.yale.edu/research/fis...

So, yes, the market meltdown was scary, but what we are left with is even scarier: A world dangling at the whim of a capricious, economically illiterate, megalomaniac. open.substack.com/pub/charlies...

I'm going to start a magazine that just endlessly cycles through the exact same profiles of Chris Rufo, the creepy "pro-natalist" couple and the Guy Who's Using His Kid's Blood To Live Forever. Apparently, there is an IMMENSE market for these stories.
