Couple of stock market learnings the past 48 hours. Your mileage may vary: 1) My confidence in equities was guarded since 1/20. My confidence now is zero. 2) My confidence in Full Faith & Credit of US was guarded since 1/20. Confidence level up a bit after regime freaked out over T bond yields.

Someone asked me recently should they invest in Dell? My honest answer: No idea. Been there, done that, from the IPO in 1987 to the time it went private (early 2010s?) — before going public again. Last year we went on an international-guest African photo safari lead by a pro photographer who is the partner of a friend. Wonderful trip! This year we were honored to be asked back. So sad we feel we have to decline because of our distrust of what our own country is doing to Africa and the world.

I just told my husband I could feed us for 6 months out of the pantry. More to backpacking standards than Cordon Blue. But, I have been food insecure (decades ago in grad school) and am worried about people in that situation. Being in a grad school food desert with no $ was unfun. This is worse.
