Monaco GP on the SG-1000 lacks much of the visual flair that made the arcade version so special, but the gameplay and soul are still there. If you’re looking for a fun racing challenge for your console, then Sega has you covered with this decent port. Full review: www.sega-16.com/2025/02/mona...

Divoom's pixel art speakers, like the Tiivoo-2 here, are the closest you'll get to owning Bluetooth speakers themed on the #Sonic item monitors. I'm irked that SEGA hasn't even done this yet. Need some inspiration? Here's what I did on the Divoom app! All item monitor animations were uploaded by me!

Review: Mega Everdrive Pro - The Best Flash Cart For Your Genesis / Mega Drive. (Repost)

These two games still look great, but I would definitely buy them again if they were remastered. I would love to play through them once more!

My upcoming Game Gear book has a cover! Look for it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online vendors later this year!

Television is the retina of the mind's eye.

Swagman presents fun and engaging platforming action that Saturn fans will appreciate. It’s not the best game out there, but it has enough variety and creativity to keep you playing, if you’re able to find a copy for less than its high asking price. www.sega-16.com/2025/02/swag...

I also found this. Why I have it, I honestly don't know. I haven't owned a VCR in over 25 years.

Found these again! Time to put them with the rest of my mag collection.

It’s been over 2 months since I last shared my Japan Retro Gamer Starter Pack. In that time a lot of new people joined Bluesky. These are some great non-toxic people to follow. Also if you know someone who should be included (or you ARE that someone), please let me know. go.bsky.app/FE8Qdwj

4000+ words into my Scud Race history, and I just realized that it's the 600th article I've done for Sega-16. 20 years on, and it still fills my heart with joy to create for the site. 😊

In "The Honeymooners," Ed Norton (Art Carney) plays Exhibit's "Judy," a 1950 machine that has a manual ball-loading mechanism and backwards flippers. He plays to win a box of Italian chocolates (on the back box). Such prizes caused controversy and brought political pressure for change.

"You gotta go to the Death Star, man. They're gonna kill that poor woman."

The Jaguar collection is coming along. Jumping at Shadows is on the way, too!

Nick Cage has impeccable taste in reading material.

Thanks to Atari and Songbird Productions, I'm finally able to add this one to my collection.

Fed up with Geoffrey's insistence that she buy a 32X, Katie decided to take matters into her own hands.

New "Behind the Design" article coming soon to the site. The game?

There are few coin-op showrooms more colorful than this one from Sega, circa 1969. Featuring their full line of original electro-mechanical games, imported pinball, and foreign jukeboxes.

Cuebus preserved the trial version of The House of the Dead Mobile! It was preloaded on a 804SH, which Cuebus dumped via chip-off. For a 3D keitai game in 2005, it plays pretty well! The full version has motion controls, which are probably dizzying on original hardware.

@megacatstudios.bsky.social is warming up a Kickstarter campaign for its new Genesis run-‘n-gun, Lethal Wedding. We checked out an early build and have come away intrigued! Check out our preview for all the details about this new title for your 16-bit machine. www.sega-16.com/2025/01/prev...

vladikcomper on the SGDK discord has created an amazing and ridiculous mod for Sonic the Hedgehog (MD) in which quality degrades to different resolutions/numbers of colors unless you fill your blast processing meter up. It works real time in wide screen in a smaller rom size than the original game.

Looking through a closet, I came across this Xbox 360 faceplate. Remember these?

Daytona for gamers over 40.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Wick. Will you be playing Sega today?" "I need something robust. Precise."

Any Quartet fans? The opening bars of the theme song are just pure Sega goodness.
