Very cool paper from Kenji Kitamura and co-authors estimating #ECD status with telephone vs. in-person interviews. Using @unicef.org #ECDI203 in Nepal, they find similar results across (randomly assigned) modality. Phone interviews are a reasonable approach! www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

I am *so* excited that a labor of love on "the next 1,000 days" of child development is out in The Lancet after years of collaboration with an incredible group of authors led by Catherine Draper and Milagros Nores.

Early Childhood Education observations can be a helpful tool in monitoring the quality of ECE services. Check out a recent blog I wrote with World Bank colleagues summarizing validity evidence of the open-source and free-to-use Teach ECE tool. blogs.worldbank.org/en/education...

Thrilled to share a World Bank Policy Working Paper I wrote with Amer Hasan and Diego Luna Bazaldua on early learning outcomes and environments in South Punjab: openknowledge.worldbank.org/server/api/c... Also wrote a replication package (code only): reproducibility.worldbank.org/index.php/ca...

Excited to present on benchmarks for an #ECD assessment in a session with Lauren Pisani, Hiro Yoshikawa, Carolina Maldonado-Carreño, and Filipa de Castro at #CIES2024. Come join us on Wednesday at 1830 (drink in hand?) for a celebration of a decade of #IDELA.

Many negative things are happening in the world, but so much good as well. @danacmccoy.bsky.social, Jorge Cuartas, and I wrote a research letter in JAMA Pediatrics that shows #nurturingcare for children worldwide is getting better and these improvements are linked to better #ECD. t.co/hKEw8sGKlG

Now that I have six followers, I guess I should actually post something. So here is a terrible joke: What does the stormy Arctic Ocean have in common with an underpowered cluster RCT? High ICC.
