That's what I call my ADHD social avoidance and decompression by hiding in the bathroom time

Great to hear! I loved the little pop up displaying the exit being open, especially seeing how big the maps can get!

Tonight we played a lot of puzzle games I'll review below: - Is This Seat Taken? - No Rest for Lex - Paper Trails: A Scrapbooking Story - Spreadcheat - Swingularity - A Week in the Life of an Asocial Giraffe - Whisper of the House

Oh, and I'm away from my.pc currently, and some of the demos are a blur, but I thiiiiink this one also auto-progressed dialogue faster than I could read it?

I had a good time with this one! My only major issue is it definitely needs more settings. I was very quick to switch to controller because the mouse sensitivity + intentionally floaty mechanics made traversing bridges pretty sketchy.

I'll take a look at it for sure!

That makes sense, and if thats the case my note is largely unnecessary. The appearance of an actual path did clue in that those sections are likely the main path.

I'll endeavour to do so! :)

I can understand that, it felt like it stumbled upon the correct path sometimes, it made me wonder if I was lucky, or if there isn't other valid directions yet haha

Run TavernQuest is a kind of Stanley parable lite inverse text based rpg. I loved the vibe, the humour, the voice work. My only gripes are I wish STEVEs character didn't have dialogue, options match classic text adventure logic more, and options went as wild and branching as the Potion does more.

ESC #ElectronicsSecurityCompany is a hacking based puzzle game. As someone who's programming knowledge extends to CSS from chat forums, I definitely could have used some more direct tutorials to start, but when I did figure out things I felt so damned clever. Also: Yes you can pet the kitty.

Aside from creators who commented here (see their replies for details) here's the cliff notes of other games we played!

I didn't enjoy the UI and UX experience, having the tutorial locked to a text box accessible on the main screen wasn't useful, and not only did I not understand why combat went to a second screen when it uses most of the same details and lasts a single round, but my game glitched and got stuck on it

Just finished(ish) the demo, and with only the kindest intentions, making games is tough and you should be proid of your work, but ultimately while the idea is interesting, I think it's very under baked for Next Fest demo stages.

I'd love to see the X button used more to "examine" and get notes on some of the objects and points of interest, and maybe a more apparent path for the tutorial - always good to consider less experienced gamers/puzzlers too Really enjoyed my time especially when pushing blocks and facing more foes

Played it on stream and reporting back some thoughts! I really enjoyed the tactical gameplay and navigation: you weren't kidding with the sliding puzzle- was very fun. I only have minor notes (below)

I think my only decent grievance is the flipping portal animation got pretty sickening and disoroenting: i think I'd do better with either maybe a haze effect or less intensive usage in some levels, and i hope there more interesting variety of navigational puzzles in future levels too. Promising!

Finished playing! I really enjoyed the drawing mechanic, and gameplay in general, and chatting to the ghost pals at the end of the level.

You had my interest at cats and locked it with drawing! I'll add it to the list!

Can't tell if it's not loading or broken so let's try one at a time. It's loading in the preview at least.

I'm not sure what's more NSFW: the saucy high thigh, or the assaulting 80s flashback. 12/10

It was my first time at any #kaigaconvention and the vibes were ๐ŸŒŸimmaculate๐ŸŒŸ The gorgeous fairy lights, Stardew Valley and other chill music playing, free water, respectful patrons, and the quality and vetting of the artist stalls. 10/10 would recommend.
