Sometimes, it's best to just say "complainers are going to complain" and close that window.

This is a very big deal indeed. A *real* competitor for Amazon. And they have my book! bookshop.org/p/books/unde...

Phew! Much better! A big thank you to my one blue Sargent Art permanent marker. I may have to stock up before they're all gone...

I learned a very important lesson about Mod Podge today. I don't know if my teen volunteers will be more upset that this happened or gleeful that I'm coloring it over after telling them how much I hate coloring. 😭

Where do I put it?! C'mon, publishers/cover designers, sometimes you KNOW you need to leave a little blank space! It also makes me extra glad that "One Big Open Sky" is the one with multiple awards! Imagine if she'd written "Many Cluttered Things" or the like! 😅

I'm so glad these were announced on a morning I was at home. The way I CHEERED for some of these announcements was better suited for my empty house! Ha!

Hey #ComicsSky, the Comic Shop in Oswego, NY is going through tough times and it would be appreciated if you could show them support. A link to purchase from their online store will be provided as well.

Hey everyone, please don't unplug electric items before turning them off & letting the motor stop- this goes for fans and ESPECIALLY the space heater in the library community room where the HVAC clearly isn't working. Ugh.

Working school concessions. Just had an Indian-American man try to pay for his son's teammates snack. This 6 year old pulled on all his Italian ancestors to argue back. Best thing I've seen today. (And yes, the adults teamed up on him and little guy got to give mom back her money)

If probably be less skeptical about AI if my phone autocorrect would actually... correct my typing instead of making it so much worse. (Is decibel never defibrillator) (Yes, this is my keyboard without me going back to correct)

My 12 yo recently said about a book, "It has that problem that a lot of children's books have, " which makes me realize that were getting to the point where she's going to be reading mostly teen books while I'm still in the Children's section. She'd better give me useful reviews.

"And other duties as needed." No, this isn't bragging or complaining. Sometimes, it's a tightrope walk between doing what's right in the long run (making sure the contracted people do their job- which the wind makes difficult) and doing what right in the short term (keeping library patrons safe).

I like Bluesky so far, but I'm a little weirded out by this NEED to pack in followers. I'd rather have a quality feed than essentially a similar version of what FB tries to give me.

Sometimes, my job is reading & singing with kids, finding the best book(s) for a reader, & learning everything I didn't know I needed to know about Roblox/Minecraft/Pokemon/etc. Sometimes, my job is huddling outside in the rain, lighting fabric scraps on fire to determine their fabric content.

New lesson of the day: pay attention to when your coworker is talking about giant spiders, so you know when not to look when she offers her phone.

If anyone's wondering how my day's going, I just wrote out a beautiful label for a binder and peeled off the backing to find it wouldn't stick. I wrote it on the label backing instead of the label itself.
