On bsky polls get a tinsy bit of free exposure (maybe 2 to 5 votes) because they get auto retweeted by the polling account. It's nice, but as a small account, it does mean my polls tell me less about what my ppl think (though ofc one should not read much into n=3 polls).

It's absurd how much people take modern medicine for granted For much of human history, cancer was largely just a death sentence. By the 1970s, overall, it was about a coinflip, roughly 50/50 chance of surviving it. Now, about 80% of people who get cancer survive at least 5 years. That's amazing!
