That’s such a great stadium, the atmosphere is excellent. The march to the match that the supporter’s club does from Pioneer Square is fun if you haven’t done it

And conversely, just because it’s “literary” doesn’t mean it isn’t meaningless drivel.

Sounds like you just haven’t seen or read good horror.

I appreciate your engagement, but I don’t know if it’s possible for me to disagree more fervently

Who in their right mind could ever think it be possible to tell a political story without offending half the US population? What exec in their right mind thought that was a good idea? Seriously, what fucking universe are these people living in? What’ll they try next, a fish story without water?

I’ve heard the movie described as feeling like it was written by a focus group. Sounds like what you’ve described as well.

Hey alright! Let’s meetup and say hi!

The real danger, I think, is NOT engaging with horror. Those doors are definitely not closed—you’re just living with the delusion that they are.

Actually I also had a story published in the same anthology with him ('Strange Lands,' pub Flame Tree Press) and I'm still chuffed by it

He did the same for me. He’s a really great guy

Game designers that actually give a shit about making a great game instead of rushing a half-baked pile of garbage…huh. Refreshing!
This is literally the best ad they could’ve ever released for FM26, which will now be an insta-buy for me when it’s ready.

This week has just been the absolute worst like that. It was feeling like Friday way back on Tuesday, and every day has been a slog. Sssssuck.

My wife is pseudo-Italian (the NYC kind where it was her grandparents who were actually) and is, naturally, all about pasta. I like to get a rise out of her by claiming that all pasta is the same regardless of shape because it’s all pasta anyway. She knows I only tease but gets worked up anyway lol

I read that too fast at first as “100 days of wanking” lol

How do you decide what books to review for the NYT Horror list?

So were the Minutemen! I was/am so fascinated by them

That story always scared me as a kid. Especially growing up in New England, it felt so local, like something that happened just down my street

This week has been so fucking long. It felt like it should’ve been Friday way back on Tuesday. It’s been excruciating. Actually so was the week before it.

Brother thanks so much for posting this, as one of these/something like it will 100% be my next tattoo, if the artist is okay with it (I’m happy to compensate—PAY ARTISTS fucks sake)

Our cat does the same but there’s also a >50% chance she’s already been fed by either me or my wife and she’s trying to trick us now for a second feeding

Had no idea he wrote a sequel, thanks so much for posting this! Just bought.

I’ve “hosted” those kinds of round tables in the past, but through email and posted as articles. Cool but not as fun as convos :/
On the other hand, it’s easier to stay focused w them. I like podcasts but less so when they are too lacking in direction. It’s the #1 thing that turns me off from one

Tooth pain is the worst. Feel better soon, friend!
What’s your podcast about?
comment in response to

It’s why I try to just straight up say why I was asking or thinking because I don’t want people to misunderstand me, tho I worry it makes me sound…stiff? Esp when in reality I’m super fluffy, friendly, and curious!

Well, I have a theory about that I’ve been working on for a while.
I think some people are just bastards.
Theory is just a work in progress tho; I might tweak it over time

My pet peeve is when people get outraged if they give an opinion and if someone has even the slightest disagreement or suggests nuance. Those are the ones I just insta-block. Obviously plenty of things have no room for disagreement, like trans rights are human rights, but you get the idea
