For too long, legacy preferences have given the privileged an unfair advantage in college admissions. That’s why State Rep. Mike Moran and I have filed a bill (S.928/H.1452) to ban them in Massachusetts—because admission should be based on merit, not family ties.

Very honored to have received the “Big Cookie” award presented by Mass Alliance of HUD Tenants. Fighting to keep the MRVP afloat for thousands of families in MA has been and will be one of my priorities as State Senator and Vice Chair of the Housing Committee. #mapoli #bospoli

The Trump administration has cut off federal funding to nonprofits that are key enforcers of anti-discrimination laws. Last year there were more than 34,000 fair-housing complaints, a record high for the third year in a row. @jenniferludden.bsky.social @npr.org www.npr.org/2025/03/15/n...

Saddened to hear about the passing of Buddy Mangini. East Boston had the privilege of having Buddy as one of the main pillars of our community. He was a friend and mentor to many of us, and his legacy will live on in our lives as we move forward. Rest in Peace. #mapoli #bospoli

Proud to have welcomed Commander-in-Chief Alfred “Al” Lipphardt at the Beachmont VFW. It was wonderful to reconnect with dozens of veterans from all over MA. Thank you for your service to our great nation. 🇺🇸 #mapoli #bospoli

It was great to meet with neighbors from the Beacon Hill Civic Association. I had the opportunity to learn more about their concerns and to give an update on my legislative work as their State Senator. #mapoli #bospoli

I was honored to speak with students in the Systemic Justice class at Harvard Law School. This groundbreaking course empowers future lawyers to confront systemic injustices— like mass incarceration, climate change, & economic inequality—by reshaping narratives & institutions for lasting change.

I am honored to be named Chair of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary for the 194th Massachusetts Legislative Session! This Committee plays a critical role in addressing issues from criminal justice reform and civil rights to constitutional protections and judicial appointments.

The Trump administration is gutting fair housing protections, making it harder to fight discrimination and build affordable housing. Let’s be clear: this isn’t about cutting red tape—it’s about cutting people off from opportunity.

I was honored to introduce @markey.senate.gov at yesterday's town hall in Malden. At a time when chaos and dysfunction dominate the highest levels of government, we need steady, experienced leaders who fight for justice, equity, and working families.

Happy International Women’s Day! Today I stood alongside dozens of women to commemorate our continued fight for equality, inclusion, and justice for all of us. #mapoli #bospoli

Lets talk about Tom Homan, SHAME ON HIM for lieing on my city and my police commissioner. He may come to bring hell, we are here to bring peace! MAYOR WU @wutrain.bsky.social #bospoli #mapoli

"We are the cradle of democracy and the city of champions not in spite of our immigrants but BECAUSE of our immigrants!" MAYOR Wu @wutrain.bsky.social #bospoli #mapoli

The MA Black and Latino Caucus held the Black excellence awards, & I was proud to honor Marguerite Wynter, from Jeffries Point. She is an arts administrator & curator at Boston Public ArtTriennial. (1/2) #mapoli #bospoli

Yesterday, I had a wonderful time doing some quality reading with 2nd grade classroom at the Donald McKay school in East Boston! Thank you, Boston Public Schools for allowing us to interact with our children and to learn more from our hardworking teachers. #mapoli #bospoli

Honored to be sworn in the Senate Arts Committee. This year we are tasked to sift through the 300 suggestions for the woman we will honor with a bust in Senate Chambers. (1/2) #mapoli #bospoli

I’m thrilled to share my committee assignments for the 2025-2026 legislative session!

Starting 4/28 the Winthrop Ferry is expanding service — doubling weekday trips, adding direct service to Boston, and cutting commute times by 30 minutes!

Thank you for having me Eastie Girl Scouts! We discussed laws, law making and then the girls each created their own countries with their own laws! #mapoli #bospoli

Here's what Homan is so worked up about: our police commissioner's accurate summary of the state and local law which prevent Boston cops from holding people on ICE detainers at the expense of Boston taxpayers #bospoli

See you tomorrow at the Strand Theatre for Lift Every Voice: A Black History Month Celebration!

Thank you to everyone who joined my welcome home fundraiser! I’m humbled by the love and support. Completing my Army JAG Corps training was unforgettable, but there’s no place like home. Grateful to Mayor Wu, Sean O’Brien, Chrissy Lynch & all who made the night so special!

Congratulations to the 10 East Boston restaurants awarded liquor licenses! These are our neighbors who help our local economy thrive! Also, congratulations to the Jeffries Point Yacht Club on being awarded a Community Space All Liquor License. #mapoli #bospoli

The 25% tariff on steel and aluminum imports, plus possible tariffs on lumber and gypsum, could add thousands of dollars to the cost of a new home in the US. [Corrected link] realestate.usnews.com/real-estate/...

Amazing time celebrating Valentine’s Day with our seniors in East Boston and the North End on Friday! ♥️🌹 #mapoli #bospoli

Happy Valentine’s Day!! Feliz día del amor y la amistad! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ #mapoli #bospoli

Appreciation to @gigi4district1.bsky.social and @senatorledwards.bsky.social for advancing this tool to help small landlords provide more affordable rents. The @mayorwu.boston.gov administration looks forward to working with you both to design the program guidelines.

Boston has lost a giant in the fight for housing justice. Robert Terrell's commitment to fairness & affordable housing transformed lives. We honor his legacy by continuing the fight for housing as a human right. Thank you, Robert—you will be deeply missed.

⚾️🔥 Josh Kraft might know a little bit about football because his dad owns the team. But @senatorledwards.bsky.social shows him how to throw a high-and-tight brushback fastball on #affordablehousing policy. #Boston #bospoli #mapoli

Nice of Josh Kraft to try & offer up some “new ideas” to deal with our affordable housing crisis— shame he didn’t do his homework 1st. @gigi4district1.bsky.social & I already put forward an incentive for landlords to keep rents affordable. Boston needs solutions, not recycled ideas #TryAgain

ADUs are now allowed by right throughout Massachusetts! So proud to have worked on this issue, the Affordable Homes Act to expand available housing in thr state! To follow up on how to build an ADU in your town contact your local planning office. #mapoli #bospoli

This is a long-overdue celebration of a civil rights icon. I am proud to have sponsored legislation that enabled this date to be celebrated every year in the Commonwealth as the Rosa Park's Day! #mapoli #bospoli

Boston City Hall is lit in red, yellow, and green tonight to commemorate the start of Black History Month. Together we will honor, remember, and celebrate Boston's Black history and the immeasurable contributions of Boston's Black communities. #BlackHistoryMonth
