🎲✂️ As I wind down this term (marking the last 70 or so papers this weekend), I am finally feeling ready and able to take on the games related projects I have been committed to. Let me know if you want to hear about what I've got cooking for the Summer of No Travel!

Only @bananachangames.bsky.social knows what's in that envelope. It could be cursed. It could be safe. My bet (because Banana has it) is that it's cursed. Definitely cursed.

🎲✂️ @gengelstein.bsky.social and I just wrapped up a talk re: @ttgda.bsky.social / the current state of the tabletop industry at Conjugar Roll a Game 2025. Talking tariffs, I noted that China made the most efficient engine ever when they laid out the Shenzhen SEZ. And now I have to make that a game.

Want to understand a bit more why countries like China out competes others when manufacturing things like tabletop boardgames? Check out how duty free shops (like the ones you see at airports) lead to China dominating manufacturing through use of SEZs. 99percentinvisible.org/episode/call...

🎲✂️ No show tonight; @drayerink.bsky.social is still travelling and @senfoonglim.bsky.social is still grading exams! See you next week!

We most need some mentors so if you have any amount of expertise in any game-related skills to share (not just design!) our mentees could use your help.

Testing and pitching big games: an industry panel discusses how to get a multi-hour, table-sprawling game in front of playtesters and publishers, via @meeplesyrupshow.bsky.social

🎲✂️ *New Episode!* @senfoonglim.bsky.social and @ericabouyouris.bsky.social welcome Sarah Shipp, guest host of the Thinking Beyond Mechanism segment, to talk about designing events in tabletop games. ludology.libsyn.com/thinking-bey...

I need people to understand that Barthes meant "Death Of The Author" to mean that authorial intent should not be the primary lens by which to criticize and understand a text; it has nothing to do with "is buying a book by a bigot acceptable" it is about LITERARY CRITICISM
