Who is that person in the github team willing to die on that specific hill named "We will never display commits from all branches like Bitbucket have been doing for 100 years!" ? I'd like to meet them and offer some thoughts.

😄😄😄

If you'll be there, don't miss the opportunity to talk to Rachel. She has been doing a fantastic job leading one of the most innovative healthcare initiatives in the world.

Instant follow once I catch a breadth between laughs upon reading Weyland-Yutani customer care hotline...

I ve been thinking about the variety of responsibility we've been throwing at asp.net, and it handles them all. Serving N SPAs, REST endpoints, reverse proxy to upstream services, all in the same project. That's actually pretty impressive.

No Google AI, it really isn't. Just read what you wrote for figs sake. Top AI based result for "ç" as the google query:

How every grifter uses CAPITAL LETTERS hoping to get clicks. Read my latest post.

Don't finish that sentence. Just don't.

I'm not sure if I felt this much joy and relief recently. I disabled the connection bar on top of the screen when doing remote desktop connection. Not auto hide, disable. No more fighting the stupid thing kicking in and refusing to hide again. Bliss, pure bliss. Small wins matter

I'm not using a laptop for development. I just gave up and ordered a wired headset because I failed to find a bluetooth headset that does not make me sound like I'm a robot that is being drowned in a bathtub while attending an online meeting. Bluetooth just won't do.

Freat observation. I got stuck at $15 though. I'm guessing Thai food for $15 is an option available only in Thailand at this point.

I think we're stuck with the browser as the UI layer. We'll never get away from this, not in my remaining lifetime at least.

I'm amused by the responses to interviews with the younger generation adults (Z ?). They think what they think. We are the reason for their thoughts (old people). We'll die and they'll live on with their thoughts and opinions. What do you think you'll accomplish by getting angry or lecturing them?

Javascript (Node) not being fast enough for acceptable DX for javascript dev tooling is somewhat contrary to "Stop obsessing on performance, node is fast enough!" argument but let's not spoil the moment.

Yep. That's the one Keynesian intervention did not work for.

I just wrote a c# function with the success and error outcomes are out parameters and the return type is bool. I'm old, I've had enough.

Sam Altman's sole activity seems to be walking around saying things like "Yep, it's coming", "Any minute now", "It actually came last week but we lost it", "In the next twenty minutes or years, one of those, but definitely", "It'll lift everyone up, but some higher than others, and some may go down"

C# reached a point where I type incorrect keywords due to loss of focus, attention etc and that combination of keywords which would not make sense 5 years ago now can mean something. public static readonly const like where class DoThings(out bla, sideways etc)...

I am beginning to think I may use javascript and deal with lack of type safety rather than deal with type fantasies of typescript libraries.

What would happen if browsers supported typescript natively? Did that ever become a possibility? I seem to remember some mainstream browsers supporting non js languages natively, when I used to roam the earth with other dinasours, but my memory is not what it used to be after that meteor incident.

Wat? Why wasn't I informed this? Are we Dapper now??!!

I'm using a workstation that would have been considered as science fiction in the 80s in terms of its computing power. I wait for things I should not possibly wait for. Why? How on earth it can take this thing to display a context menu more than two seconds? HOW???!!! I should not be able to notice!

@andrewlock.bsky.social does HostResolverFactory class exist? I see it used here and there, including your excellent blog posts but I suspect it is a common typo and there is no such type 😀 It is meant to be HostFactoryResolver. Am I correct? I can't find it in dotnet source etc.

If you speak any other language than your native one, you know this very well: just reading or listening, but not talking makes you unable to communicate. You become incapable of expressing yourself. At that point you cannot claim to speak that language.

Reminds me of all the good intentioned medical professionals who tell me I should decrease the amount of stress in my life.

I want to be absolutely clear on something. Articulating this as precisely as possible matters a great deal to me: Fuck. Brexit.

I have no intention of being aggressive, but I refuse to acknowledge translytical as a word. Please come back with something else, thanks.
