Oh my. George Pickens playing in Big D ... for Brian Schottenheimer.

Dabo Swinney used to sound like he'd be out if college football became ... well, what it's became. But Dabo is not out. He's very much in, and perhaps getting a second wind. “As it’s gotten crazy we doubled down on who we are." My story from Clemson: www.nytimes.com/athletic/632...

Five-star QB Jared Curtis, who decommitted from Georgia last year, just committed again, choosing Georgia over Oregon.

One of the lead attorneys in the House case - the one pending settlement with the NCAA - came out firing at Nick Saban and the idea of a presidential executive order:

All kinds of CFB offense numbers were down last year. Have defenses caught up? Yes and no. A lot going on here. Fascinating stuff from @sethemerson.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/632...

Remember the offensive revolution in college football? Well it's on pause. But is it because defenses have adjusted? Were the QBs just not good last year? Or is it just the clock rules? I looked into the data and spoke to a few defensive coaches: www.nytimes.com/athletic/632...

This statement starts badly and doesn’t get any better.

Gonna just forget about CFB for awhile and take in this NBA game and okay there’s Billy Napier

The spring transfer portal is closed. Player movement (apparently) has ceased. We've also had time to rethink. And here's what I think: The SEC is Texas, then Georgia, then .... who knows. www.nytimes.com/athletic/632...

“But our parent company, Paramount, is trying to complete a merger. The Trump administration must approve it. Paramount began to supervise our content in new ways.” Can’t wait for the backstory on this airing, but man, good on 60 Minutes.

When the Falcons write that they would “facilitate” a phone call, note that call the has already happened. Just thought I’d note that.

The SEC is going to finish with the most picks, once again, and yes it added Texas and Oklahoma but the Big Ten still has two more teams. As I wrote in January, the narrative is off that NIL/portal means the SEC doesn’t have the best players anymore. It does, it’s just more spread out now.

Really nice to see Arian Smith go in the fourth round (to the NY Jets.) He's gotten a lot of criticism from Georgia fans because of the drops, and he dealt with a lot of injuries his first three years. But coaches loved his work ethic and attitude. www.nytimes.com/athletic/602...

Deone Walker lasting till the fourth round is interesting. One of SEC’s best defensive lineman the past couple years.

Tate Ratledge and his mullet playing for Dan Campbell is perfect South-North synergy.

I really like the pick of Tyler Shough. Not that I’ve seen him play, because I haven’t, but he appears to have a cool dog and at 48 I’m close in age.

Jaden Rashada, who is suing Florida coaches over broken NIL promises, commits to play for Brennan Marion, whose QB at UNLV quit the team last season, citing broken NIL promises from Marion.

Quite a match here. Sacramento State has been chasing relevancy and claiming NIL resources.

James Pearce and Jalon Walker on the same defense could be nasty. Quite nasty. And they better be because the Falcons, in order to get Pearce, now don’t have a first-rounder next year.

If the Falcons hadn’t picked Jalon Walker, Mercedes-Benz Stadium would not be standing tomorrow morning.

Mykel Williams is a boom-or-eh prospect. Great size and athleticism, and any edge playing in Georgia’s system isn’t going to put up big stats. But we’ve also seen Travon Walker, Azeez Ojulari, Lorenzo Carter have solid but not spectacular careers (so far). So who knows with Williams.

Can Ward, Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty all in the top six picks. Three of the top four Heisman semifinalists - Dillon Gabriel was the other - also going high in the draft. Doesn’t happen that often.

In a few minutes I will be going on the Paul Finebaum show to talk about this story - as well as whatever else in college football. www.nytimes.com/athletic/630...

Dabo Swinney believes a college football Super League is coming: "Sooner rather than later." Why and what it would look like, the Clemson coach told me: www.nytimes.com/athletic/630...

NEWS: After being fired by ESPN, Robert Griffin III is expected to be hired by Fox Sports as its No. 2 game analyst, The Athletic has learned. www.nytimes.com/athletic/630...

Commissioners here for CFP meetings have just popped in and out to get on phone calls with their board chairs and lawyers over today's House settlement order. None would comment on it yet. A bit of scrambling

Big deal for woke sportswriters.

The CFP dates and times for the quarters, semis and championship.

Mykel Williams isn’t talked a lot in draft chatter as a top-10 pick, but make no mistake: NFL D-line coaches love him. “Guys I know at Georgia told me he’s gonna be better than Travon Walker, and I think Walker is a baller.” www.nytimes.com/athletic/627...

If college football eventually gets a CBA, does that mean players can be traded? That would be crazy!

Actually, I just looked at the stock market and maybe cash isn’t a bad idea. Still wouldn’t be carrying it around though.

The Hawks have fired GM Landry Fields and promoted Onsi Saleh to GM. They've also begun a search for a new president of basketball operations.

$3,000 in cash?

Former Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava has committed to UCLA, he announced via his Instagram.

Georgia appears to be moving on from two football players arrested in March on driving-related charges: www.nytimes.com/athletic/628...

Lee Corso is hanging it up, after one more farewell from “GameDay”.

Conference realignment about to heat up again.

The most logical destination. But did he better his situation, financially or football-wise? Not likely with either, especially considering the difference in the state income taxes.

“THANK YOU place I’m at, thus has been like family, you made me a man and it’s been the best place ever, with that being said I’m out see ya.”

Here is the schedule for this year’s SEC media days. I don’t know why Brent Venables is underlined.
