Rashford being match winner for Villa, this is fine.

Chelsea GK = spinal tap drummer?

Anecdotes aren’t data, but we’ve consciously moved as much of our shopping as possible from Target to Costco as a direct result of the actions of both companies.

Oh no.

Maybe Raya should play as a 9 with that turn of pace.

As they say, the map is not the territory.

Applies (quite strongly) to sports data as well.

So basically they’re the last few cars that came off the line in Gung Ho, but they didn’t bother to go back and fix them.

To be fair, that’s how we got this, so I guess I’ll take it

All else aside, choosing to see this as an attempt at some grand geo strategic move rather than just “shiny rocks! Gimme!” is the most magicalist of thinking.

This makes me sad.

Over on LinkedIn, the head of the Executive Secretariat of the NIH -- a central part of NIH leadership 🧪🩺-- resigned with a lettter worth reading www.linkedin.com/posts/nathan...

Maybe we should start calling players “content creators” and then the league will be interested in promoting their “collaborations” by which I mean the games awfulannouncing.com/nba/content-...

Should have said Austin Reaves. I regret the error

Spurs should trade him for KD and a first. What did you eat today?

Hashtag meritocracy.

To quote Eminem “Why? Because you guys lied just to get me here?”

What if we’re so unready we’re inready, as in more than ready, extremely ready, explosively ready?

Jack Reacher once ends a phone call with “I’m going to throw you out of a fucking helicopter” and that’s still not as hard as this

Finally got around to reading this fully, and though it seems a lot of people thought it was too flattering, I think it’s a case of letting someone’s own words making them look ridiculous.

I mean, respectfully... Duh!

To be fair there are some WILD shooting numbers from the first year of detailed play-by-play data. But that’s mostly because a crap ton of missed shots from all over the court were coded as 0,0 (meaning right at the basket). Witness David Wesley looking like the greatest shooter ever as a rookie:

Replace “teaches” with “requires” and you’ll see why this whole argument falls apart upon first contact with reality.
