Fantastic Protest in Big Bend National Park in Texas today. Not far from Terlingua. Many Park Rangers out of work from cutbacks. Population in the region is less than 1 person per square mile!

So my two pumpkin pie making hints are these 1. Use unsalted Kerry Gold butter for shortening in your pie crust and 2. Substitute a dulce de leche (caramel) for the sweetened condensed milk part of the recipe. You will never bake a pumpkin pie the traditional way again
