typical cat owner morning

Me, chasing my cat: Let me see your butt! Cat: *angrily* MRAOW Me: LET ME SEE YOUR BUTT Cat: MRAAAAAAOW

I need this dont do it for your city do it for me

Interesting op ed in the Times today

"Andrew Cuomo has been on fewer picket lines than J.D. Vance" NURSE

We are sticking to our non-endorsement policy by super not endorsing Zohran Mamdani, who simply lacks an HR complaint folder with the thickness of Mr. Cuomo’s.

sorry but portraying de Blasio's mayoralty as a disaster is bonkers. whatever your criticisms of him, he is easily the best NYC mayor of my adult lifetime.

President of UMN: It's hard budget times President of UMN: So we're going to cut instructional support down to 19% of total budget (down from 30% in 2001) President of UMN: And I need 500K to hire a Vice President for Strategic Initiatives* President of UMN: You know, austerity *yes this is real

honestly feels like the NYT endorsed Cuomo because they "understand" his brand of corruption and would prefer covering his foibles for the next 4 years than, like, anyone semi-decent.

I had the same reaction. Mamdani is such a threat in their view that they had to essentially reverse their non-endorsement policy. If Cuomo was cruising to victory, I doubt this piece would be written.

There are MANY individual NYT reporters and employees I have enormous respect for and hugely appreciate. But the NYT as an institution is very, very bad. This is unconscionable and dishonest.

Do these people not understand that OPSEC is context and threat model specific?

I'm loving all the videos of yesterday's protest but especially this wedding party that decided to join in

Not a word of a lie. Riot medics you need to really push head injury patients to stay put at the med tent or be transported to hospital or home. Protesters- I’ve been looking at head injuries for more than 17 years. Even closed head injuries should be taken seriously.

Wow, this is an IMPRESSIVELY ugly cake. Why are the stripes uneven? Why do the letters look like they were put in place by a toddler? Why are the stars wrong?

the academy: sports are a culturally-insignificant object unworthy of study the literal pope:

using "the other guy sucks!" as a voting tactic is bad both because 1) if you announce you're willing to vote for a bad candidate just because the other guy is worse, that's all you'll get & 2) it clearly doesn't work, as evidenced by how the worse parties win at least half of the time anyway

The suspect had a rifle in his bag and an alert bystander spotted it, grabbed the bag when the suspect wasn’t paying attention, and called for help. Absolutely incredible stuff. Video from www.reddit.com/r/GuysBeingD...

Hi everyone I was denied entry, detained, and deported from the USA over the last 48 hours because of my reporting on the Columbia student protests I arrived back in Melbourne hours ago and had my phone handed back to me upon landing

Couple things I learned today: - Seniors are extremely fired up about this - "Fuck ICE" is a normie position now - People are MASSIVELY pissed off about Sen. Padilla being wrestled to the ground in LA - We all we got, we all we need

Genie: ok what do you want for your birthday Trump: a military parade, oh, and also millions of people on the street chanting my name Genie: okie dokie

Proud of Minnesotans

Seen (heard) today during the "No Kings" protest march in Chicago: people inside the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago tapping along as marchers pass by outside. The tapping is loud enough that it can be heard above the protestors' cheers and chants.

lmaoo never gets old

Ariel view of thousands of protesters marching against Donald Trump in Downtown Los Angeles #NoKingsProtest

I've seen longer lines for bakeries selling the viral Olympic muffins

Hard to grasp just how massive turnout was for NO KINGS NYC without seeing it for yourself. This is a video walking the line south along Fifth Avenue between 42nd and 26th Streets at 20x speed.

NOW: #NoKings Austin proceeds despite the evacuation of the TX Capitol at 1 pm in response to what TX DPS called a “credible threat” against lawmakers attending today’s rally, one of more than 1,800 across the country.

this was my favorite sign from today

You can’t see me bc I’m holding a flag but guys I live in a 2k person extremely rural town in one of the reddest counties of WI. So many people showed up there was a line all the way to the highway. I often feel a bit afraid due to my identity in this area but #nokings brought out so many

This reads as if someone prompted ChatGPT to write a statement that superficially sounds strong but is substantively very weak. Who might have caused this? Who are the extremists? ? Who needs to take responsibility? All of that remains unstated!

Get in losers. We're building a popular front.

AG Ellison staying at the No Kings rally despite being on the assassin’s hit list to tell the crowd to not be stopped, to keep marching is exactly what I needed in this moment.

I am back from the No Kings protest in St. Paul, MN.

Despite warnings from the law enforcement not to attend today’s No Kings rally after this mornings shooting of Minnesota lawmakers with the killer on the lose, the No Kings Rally is happening at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.

One thing about the protests that is probably unnerving for Democratic leadership is that for normie Dems, Palestine is rapidly becoming a popular cause. Saw Palestinian flags, a sign that said “stand with Ukraine and Gaza,” and a speaker’s mentions of Palestine drew the biggest cheers today.

A view of the massive crowd at the waterfront protest in San Diego, absolutely wild.

This lady put her sunglasses on like fuck around if you wanna
