I'm just a poor country political historian and not some big city media fella, but it *does* seem like a slightly big deal that the leader of the United States presented comically faked "evidence" in the Oval Office to justify his power to disappear ordinary people into a Central American prison?

As pundits joke about the fake margaritas at the meeting between Kilmar and Senator Hollen, its worth remembering that Nazis made similar videos showing family dinners for Jews in the camps. The intent was to temper social outrage and attention, which was necessary to enable mass murder.

Don't know who needs to hear this, but the facility in El Salvador is a concentration camp, not prison. For it to be a prison the people in it would have to have been convicted of a crime.
