#LaLeg voted to close ca.1957 Hodges Gardens State Park in 2018. No words for how magical this place was-a rare wonder w/ a serene lake, arboretum, botanical gardens. Mr Hodges was a pioneer in reforestation. The park was listed on the #NRHP in 2015, this the visitor center. #louisiana #lastateparks

ca. 1854 LeBeau Plantation. Arabi, St. Bernard Parish, La. Partially burned in 1986 but was stabilized. It survived Katrina. Then, Dusten Davenport (31) of Fort Worth, Texas & several underage ghost hunters burned it to the ground in 2013 in an act of drunken arson. Luckily I got to visit in 2012.
