The US Federal Debt is a $36Tr 'liability' on the country's balance sheet. By definition, this means the $36Tr is showing up somewhere as a surplus 'asset'. Money always has two sides - it's always an asset, and a liability. So where's the $36Tr surplus being recorded as an asset?
