It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

You know what would increase reduce the fed workforce's efficiency by 2.5%? Not having to write a stupid status email every week.

This gets my vote for tweet/post of the year. This is a RED ALERT post. This is exactly why he’s doing it.

The White House asking every federal employee to send an email summarizing what they did last week is something that FOIA lawyers dream about

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

Please do NOT overthink what need be said when calling your Cong. reps (202-224-3121): “I would like to leave a message for the Senator/Congressman[woman]… [answer contact info questions]… s/he is violating her/his oath by not defending us from domestic enemies & not defending the Constitution.”

the only thing Canadians like more than beating Russia in hockey is beating the US in hockey. the general sentiment this morning is that last night we got to do both.

What kind of “masculine urges” are these people repressing? Fuck sake, I just got home from having “a beer” (lol) and telling jokes with my friends. At no point were we misogynistic assholes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

ohhh I see the problem … when we said “how much worse can it get” they took it as a challenge

Hey Elon Musk, Trump is spending a bit too much on his golf trips, funded by taxpayers… something like $10 million. Maybe try cutting that wasteful spending for a change?

The good news is i saved you 60 billion dollars. The bad news is that is a typo i saved you 600 dollars and also your plane is falling out of the sky

Hey #Target, know what's in my wallet? Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Hey @washingtonpost.com and #Amazon, know what's in my wallet? Democracy Hey #Meta, know what's in my wallet? Accurate information Their only language is money. It's the only vote they count. Boycott American fascism NOW.

Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage.

Democrats must make clear that, of course, we believe in changing government for the better - and show how different that is from Trump's destruction of government's capacity to protect workers, consumers, and families.

Great to start the day off right, running with UChicago Institute of Politics students undeterred by single-digit temps. They say there’s no such thing as bad weather - just bad gear.

AOC has them sputtering mad because she’s educating people on constitutional rights. You don’t see them freaking out at Jeffries for talking about egg prices.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but we didn't have multiple plane crashes per week under President Biden and Secretary Buttigieg.

Just for no particular reason thinking about how Tim Walz would have conducted himself if he’d been sent to Munich to handle some diplomacy, how many white nationalists he’d have met with, how many ultimatums he’d have tried to give Ukraine, and so forth I hope he’s having a good day

Trump is trying to single handedly save Russia from certain collapse

As @petebuttigieg.bsky.social wrote on another platform: “The flying public needs answers. How many FAA personnel were just fired? What positions? And why?”

I’m not getting on another plane until Pete Buttigieg himself tells me the pilots are woke enough to keep us in the sky

When a judge stops the president from doing something illegal, that’s not a “threat to democracy,” that’s a check on the president’s power. That's the whole damn point.

The flying public needs answers. How many FAA personnel were just fired? What positions? And why?

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

We’re literally a nation now because we fought a war to get away from this sort of thinking.

Happy Valentine's Day to my Galandrielle! Seems like a good year to "meet" one of the authors of our Constitution: Alexander Hamilton! Looking forward to the show. Happy, also, to live in a walkable city. We are able to walk to the train station, but we are grateful for the lift.

No, he doesn't. Randy E. Barnett and Ilan Wurman should be disbarred and removed from their positions for even saying this. There should be no mercy for people articulating this made up bullshit in the legal profession. They are enablers of fascism no different than the lawyers of the Nazi regime.

Spot on.

I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me. --Hagen Scotten, AUSA, Southern District NY #hero

An amazing resignation letter to Bove from an AUSA who worked on the Adams case. Money quote: “I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

Thought: Journalists should quit calling it “X” or tacking on “also know as Twitter.” It’s Twitter. It has never not been Twitter. It will always be Twitter. When you write “X”, you demean yourself.

It's efficient, I suppose, if you don't have to pay Inspectors General to find the corruption? And/or don't need to do a background check on President Musk?

I personally will continue to use "Gulf of Mexico" because our president is a wrathful felonious nincompoop with the intellect of paramecium and I do not consent to his cartographic buffoonery

The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse. Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

The trump administration has been hit with more restraining orders than Matt Gaetz at a skating rink. USAID Treasury OPM NIH Impoundment Fork in the Road FBI list of names Trans inmate transfer Birthright citizenship That’s off the top of my head. I’m sure I’m missing some.

The CFPB has returned $21 billion to 205 million consumers who were scammed at the hands of predatory banks. You can root out waste, fraud, and abuse... or you can eliminate the CFPB. But you can't do both.

I will not serve a King.

I haven’t had eggs in like a month and I’m ok. Well, regarding eggs. The fall of our nation is quite upsetting.

Lord knows I’m not a constitutional scholar not even a lawyer (and I’ve yet to check in with @kateshaw.bsky.social) but a legal regime in which “you can do crimes if you’re buddies with the president or praise him publicly” is *on its face* a violation the equal protection of the laws.
