It took me 4 hours to edit 1500 words. Ugh.

Starting the morning green… 4000 words to edit this morning. I wanted a sleep in 🤨

Oh yes, we have a local politician who loves to do this. I think he’s been blocked by most mutuals by now. Like…. don’t do this? (TLDR context: follow/unfollow spamming to get noticed)

You’d probably not be shocked how this is also true of much of the tech we rely on, too. We’re a few bad commits away from code meltdown that will take most of the Web with it (not kidding).

Finally some snow in Edinburgh…

Spent most of the week away chilling at Loch Fyne. I've only been back in the city a day and I need another break. Trying to remember how to write. <pokes Scrivener>

Local: the trams are a mess this morning. Avoid. #edinburgh

Up early for a healthy breakfast. Well, okay it’s after 11 and…

Gorgeous hazy sunset over Edinburgh this afternoon.

Day job: we launched our 13th (!) clothing collection last night, and once again, I do not understand how time works. It feels like we were talking about doing an ethical fashion thing just yesterday. And, boom. Now if only I could finish novels, aye? 😂

Back editing today: chapter that needs to be… fixed. Flamethrower might do the trick.

I’m a day late… but, aye.

Cut a scene that I really really like for the sake of story pace. Sulking now.

This is an excellent book… my current reading.

Well. The wind has died down, but now snow and sleet. Brrr. Hiding in a cafe to write words.

What is going*on* at the British Museum? Thieves, hackers... It's like a Leverage episode over there!

Novel I’m editing is sf set sometime after a global war of that nobody/wants to remember. Feels like IRL times are the unwritten backstory—politics, AI, corporate rule & puppet politics. Next novel will be spoken over a campfire in our cosy communal cave & feature fantasy dragon & peaceful magic 🤨

Well that half scared me to death. That was LOUD

⚠️ Due to #StormÉowyn all our schools & nurseries will be closed tomorrow (Friday 24 January 2025). Schools & early years settings will contact parents directly. We'll publish more information on our website shortly about services that will be disrupted: www.edinburgh.gov.uk/emergencyclosures

Oh boy. A page to keep an eye on if local. It be windy tomorrow… www.edinburgh.gov.uk/emergencyclo...

Our occasional reminder… Did you backup your writing recently? Take a tea break, do the thing…

Astonishing, really.

Yesterday was… long. Four hours sleep later and I’m back at it. Sleep on Sunday, yes?

Cannot wait to read this. Tickets booked for book launch night…

A scene reworked, some editing and… well I hope my crit partner is still on speaking terms after reading that. Mint tea, then bed.

3400 words edited on paper over lunch. Yay, progress?

For the record, I frequently annoy myself, too.

Lovely light in the office this morning.

Another glorious evening in Edinburgh
