Angie Craig: "I have no idea why we think it's a good idea to repeal a tax on silencers when we are going to feed fewer children in our country as a result of this. It's a moral damn failure is what it is."

This is brilliant. And why members need to remember that when they go before Rules, they can be questioned about anything. Even stuff they don’t want to talk about. No rules in Rules.

Yet again Trump is taking credit for what Biden did.

Footage is from late in the protest (which I know because my fellow protestor who left at 1:30 isn’t standing next to me) and I suspect vastly underestimates the numbers but here we are, on the news again. Keep standing up for democracy!

If MeetMobile could update, that would be great!

Just a suburban swim mom blasting this absolute banger blast from the past in the Hinsdale Central parking lot (windows closed) while I finish sketches for my first two murals ever (🎉🎉🎉) and wait for my little mermaid. There’s a lot going on, but this very moment doesn’t suck. youtu.be/muvFk3CM_xw

Feeling so seen. Apparently the Vanquisher 3.0 just dropped and doesn’t have the nose bridge issue—but other than that, no improvements—but fool me once (okay, 5 times)…Arena Cobra, here we come. 💰💰💰

Learn about something before you open your mouth

this is the most devastating burn I’ve ever seen in all my life and only Chuck Schumer deserves it

They have non-alcoholic THC-infused seltzer at the Salt Shed! I’m not sure when this happened, but this California sober girl is most pleased.

ok now we got entering *and* leaving the room all covered

When I think “private island in San Francisco” I definitely think “cost savings”

Great news! Tomorrow’s 8:30 AM swim practice has been moved indoors. It has also been moved to 7:30 AM so we have to wake up earlier than we do on weekdays. 🙃🎉

I am at a loss to understand why the Trump WH is so committed to weakening US intelligience operations - or why my Republican colleagues who long prided themselves on being the “daddy party” are so quiet on this. But it’s a BFD, and not limited to CIA cuts. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/u...

I like telling authoritarians where to shove it in multiple languages

Sketching out my first 2 public murals + blasting this in the car while I wait for my daughter to finish swim practice. There’s a lot of heartbreaking shit going on, but at least I’m still able to experience pure joy when I remove myself from the context of this messy world. youtu.be/e-IK-MRe3h4?...

Happy #WorldPressFreedomDay @remhq.bsky.social

Oh no, no, no. 💔 She was such a kind human. variety.com/2025/music/n...

Donald knows that Russian strikes on Ukraine are "not necessary" because he's already resolved to giving Putin everything he wants.

Bongino has demanded a 20-man security detail to guard him 24 hours per day, including when he’s inside the FBI building. I can think of lots of explanations for that. None are flattering, and none suggest a hypermasculine lead-by-example guy beloved by the rank and file.

UPDATES: Barnard turned over personal info to feds. Almost every prof got this text. “The federal government reaching out to our personal cellphones to identify who is Jewish is incredibly sinister,” said Barnard prof. Debbie Becher, who is Jewish & got the text. theintercept.com/2025/04/23/t...

19 years ago, 4 humans and a dog were pulled out of this car after a woman blew a stop sign and hit us, causing our car to roll over twice. Miraculously no one had life threatening injuries. Not sure if the car’s safety features saved us or if we’re just lucky but I sure am grateful.

Highly recommend reading @stevevladeck.bsky.social on everything Alito got wrong in his delayed dissent from Saturday night. (There was a lot.) I'll just add that I think the Alito of 15 years ago wouldn't have made some of these sloppy errors. He's slipping! www.stevevladeck.com/p/145-justic...

Re-upping this morning’s “One First” post in light of President Trump’s praise of Justice Alito’s Saturday night dissent in the Alien Enemy Act case:

"We cannot give everyone a trial," says the president of these United States.

Not to state the obvious, but none of them were sent to a terrorist prison in El Salvador. They all had lawyers, indictment by grand jury, a trial or a guilty plea where a judge ensured it was knowing & voluntary & access to an appeals process. In other words, all the hallmarks of due process.

Mel Gibson’s on the short list, isn’t he? www.npr.org/2025/04/21/n...

Abrego Garcia, criminal or saint, was denied his due process rights by the gov’t. In this country, people are entitled to those rights, whether criminals or not, whether citizens or not. joycevance.substack.com/p/does-it-ma...

one senator insisted on seeing his constituent one that’s all it took to apply pressure what the ever living fuck are the rest of y’all doing???

The comment section on this Facebook post is better than club drugs. If your profile is still active, I promise it’s worth the trip back to the shitty side of the internet.

Someone reminded me of this today but when you see an institution (university, law firm, etc) "capitulates" to Trump's demands it's worth asking whether the elites within that institution always wanted to do what Trump is demanding and are now just using Trump as an excuse

Why do the times keep unprecedenting? Why?

Waiting for Disney and Metallica to weigh in here. 😂 Dorsey claiming that the prohibition on copying others’ work inhibits human creativity is some Grade A gaslighting. www.entrepreneur.com/business-new...

I would not have predicted that large universities would show more courage than either Big Law or corporate media. Good for them.

New and positively sublime. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmY-...

Women are being killed, ignored, and priced out of care while politicians play security theater for votes. The SAVE Act isn’t protection, it’s trauma cosplay for bigots. The Senate has an opportunity to stop gaslighting women with paperwork and start fixing the real threats.

NEW: The Trump administration wants federal supervision of Columbia University—a consent decree—which could last for years and subject the university to contempt penalties if it doesn't conform to Trump admin demands. www.wsj.com/us-news/educ...

Just a reminder that Germany led the world in science until the Nazis came to power and fired, exiled, and/or killed all the non-Nazi scientists, which was most of the scientists 🧪 www.theguardian.com/science/2025...

ICE Says It Will Stop 'Ideas' From Crossing The Border Illegally In a since-deleted social media post, the immigration enforcement agency declared itself the border thought police in a country that is supposed to believe in freedom of speech and thought. www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-id...

Indiana Republicans are advancing a ban on using student IDs for voting. The move would make it even harder for young people to vote in a state that already ranks near-last in turnout. boltsmag.org/indiana...
