Yep. The narrative is “we are kicking out criminals,” and they don’t care if the “criminals” are grad students who got a speeding ticket. They seriously appear to be running some kind of script that runs foreign students against law-enforcement databases and auto-terminates if there’s a match.

I'm watching the rest of that new Titanic documentary, and I deeply wish it was an Irish or UK production instead of American. They do everything so dramatically here, adding supposition and emotive acting where none is necessary. It makes it sensational.
