Making a second pass on the typesetting of this book and encountering accidental life advice …

My friend & neighbor Jamie Wolfond asked twenty-three fellow designers to remake the wall clock. The results are on view in Milan until April 13. I copy edited & proofed the small accompanying publication. Some highlights: www.dezeen.com/2025/04/07/d...

Look at all those excited dots witnessing history 🤭 #Gr8ness

This Carrier EP is extremely my shit in a way that nothing else this year has quite been. Sam Valenti sold me on it by saying it’s “impeccable, featherweight, but still hardbody digital dub with photekian clean room sheen.” Need to listen in a float tank. 0207carrier.bandcamp.com/album/tender...

Thank you to the anonymous reviewer from Publishers Weekly for this early review!

Last weekend, the city of Kortrijk, Belgium, opened a renovation and extension of its municipal museum designed by one of my favorite firms, Barozzi Veiga. Info: barozziveiga.com/projects/gro... Opening photos: www.instagram.com/p/DH2-2cIIBkg/

Very niche skeet: can someone help me make a Flexoki custom theme for Bear? I can pay a small bounty, or edit/write something for you as barter. stephango.com/flexoki www.reddit.com/r/bearapp/co...

A good new-music Friday! The sun is out and I’m eager to settle in with albums from Sundowner, Henrik Meierkord, DJ Koze, Perila, Barker, Joachim Spieth & Andrew Thomas, & Penelope Trappes …

My pal @iamasq.bsky.social pointed me to an amazing Okinawan hardcore band yesterday and I’m making sure its music is coming out of my speakers as the markets open: naha.bandcamp.com/album/voidin...

Valise is great! Recommend!

I don’t say this often enough: my friend Ross and I are building Valise, the best inventory software for artists. We want it to be easy to keep track of your work; the admin side of running a studio shouldn’t be difficult, and information is power. Please share with artists you know! valise.works

“The same simple question—what is the best way to encounter a work of art?—lies at the heart of each of Rose’s interviews.” Ian Volner on Julian Rose’s book of architect conversations: www.artforum.com/columns/juli...

Nell Zink, being inimitable, as ever: “The NYT would be an odd choice of venue to air my conscious shortcomings, especially in writing. 📰 editors treasure the indiscretions their journalists coax out of me on the phone …, but you can’t expect me to do it to myself.” www.nytimes.com/2025/03/20/b...

Twelve years ago, while working at Aperture, I went to Vija Celmins’s studio to see about doing an article (or a book, or a show) about her relationship to photography. Nothing came of it, as happens, but finally there’s an article in the Spring 2025 issue—an interview with Richard Learoyd.

The just-released title track of this forthcoming Anthony Naples album bodes so well for the rest of it. Listening on repeat: anthonynaples.bandcamp.com/album/scanners

Today 4AD releases an expanded thirtieth-anniversary edition of one of my desert-island discs: Unrest’s “Perfect Teeth.” I can’t count the number of hours this record has accompanied me, or the varied moods it’s suited. 🖤 Ordering on vinyl now … 4ad.com/releases/1065

Proofreading a very big book. When I’ve finished a chapter & am going back to look at typesetting details, rewarding myself with 1990s-era emo hits. Forgot how great it was that Rainer Maria’s two singers started the album “Past Worn Searching” by yelling “Goddamit!” in unison.

Maxwell Graham Gallery is being clever (complimentary). "This Artwork Did Not Sell" is a show of works from previous gallery solo shows that … didn’t sell; each hangs exactly where it was in that previous show. Opens tonight in NYC. Of course there’s no info here: maxwellgraham.biz/exhibitions/...

Here's something special I've been working on lately: an experimental, collaborative publication that lives in your calendar. It's called PoetiCal and submissions are open to everyone. poetical.day

So happy to hear new music (for the first time in a decade!) from Hiorthøy; the lead single is as delicately poised as ever. He’s also a talented artist who’s had ~10 shows at Standard (Oslo) and set the visual direction for Norway’s electronic & jazz scenes with hundreds of album covers.
