Let me state this plainly: if @xbox.com cared about game preservation, it would use its enormous corporate power to push the Entertainment Software Association to pull back on its exercise of the DMCA and allow preservation organizations to do remote game access.

Started up Final Fantasy XIII about 15 years after falling off of it for being too linear- this actually seems good and maybe I should have finished it. The battle system is great, music is great, and it’s beautiful on Steam Deck.

My Vizio-P65 has been a good TV, recently replaced it with an LG65B4 but it was being used in the basement- but at 6y10m it has died. TV just keeps rebooting, the Vizio home screen won’t load, AirPlay won’t display, and HDMI sources only show half a screen.

Retroarch has so many redundant menus but got GT2 running in high res. So crisp. (PCSX Re-ARMED, iPhone 13 Pro Max). Even got retro achievements to play nice, and then realized Wipeout XL doesn’t have an achievement list yet.

It’s great having emulators on iOS but damn, Retroarch is still a mess. Played some Wipeout XL and Gran Turismo 2 - they look and run great but of course the settings just don’t seem to save. Magically my retro achievements eventually logged in on my last start up.

I haven’t played Okamiden before but the sequel announcement got my hyped to try it out. It’s charming and plays pretty well for a DS game - dpad movement, very low resolution. I think I should play it to the end.
