So far the best use for AI that I've found is "describe modelling problem -> get hyper-specific Bayesian regression model for just such a use case"

Is there a good local SQL editor aimed at analysts that has GUI based data visualizations? #databs

Look I know it was a mistake to turn Haliburton and Fox into the norcal Bulls, but I think a series of nationwide protests is really kicking Sacramento when it's down.

I feel like there's a natural way to generate these files from Quarto sites: llmstxt.org

there really seems to be a strange “green lantern theory of fascism” that some people on this website have internalized, in which the white house’s desire for martial law — it’s desire for organized repression — is tantamount to a guarantee that it will happen

I started reading Twitter like a min 2010s blogging platform where I follow no accounts but just open individual people's pages. Surprisingly good!

A year after leaving Posit I still can't believe how ridiculous it was that that job didn't work out.

Here's a @mattyglesias.bsky.social substack post idea: - Climate change an birth-rate decline are very similar types of issues in that they're long term threats to our way of life with no clear solutions - People who care about one tend to not care about the other - That's weird!

A really good way to maintain your R sensibilities as a Python dev is to get really twitchy and upset when people don't use list comprehension.

Is there a good Python widget for visually comparing two data frames for differences? I'm looking for something like vdiffr or something. #dataBS #python

So glad @mcmegan.bsky.social is on Blue Sky, I had a twitter account that I just used to read her tweets.

Python annoyance, I often write functions in other .py files and use them in a notebook, but I don't want those imports to be cached. I.e. when I edit the function and run the import chunk I want the updated function, not the cached version.
